Hi Everyone,

For those that may remember I had a 1.03 H SI1 stone brought in for me (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/having-second-thoughts.114659/) I had doubts about it, but thought it was worth taking for a "test drive". It was a big fail for me - I could very easily see the feather (No idea how it was eye clean). And as some of the members here suggested there was a lack of fire .. more accurately there was almost no fire at all.

So onto smaller and better things. I''m going (I promise this time) buy one of these stones. They are almost identical so I''m not sure if one is better than the other.

Stone 1:

. Table %: 56.6

yap, almost identical, I would go for the cheaper one, save about $200 that can then go into the ring setting.

Hey Mike, sorry to hear the first diamond didn''t work out. I do have two questions out of curiousity on that one. What different lighting environments did you observe the stone? Some are more conducive to fire than others. Also, did you make sure the diamond was clean? If you handled it much, fingerprints can kill the light performance.

Agree with stone cold that there is very little difference between these two stones and both are very nice.

@ jet2ks - the stone was cleaned so I''m hoping dirt wasn''t the factor. There was a bright spot halogen desk lamp - which is what I assumed was ideal for "fire production" :) I tried a couple different lighting set ups and they all yielded the same results. It was predicted the stone would lack fire, but I didn''t think it would have almost nothing. I had seen a hearts on fire diamond the previous day and it not only had brightness but wicked fire in several different style of lighting conditions. It was amazing, and also a deadly price: $15,000 CND for a 1.03ct, H, SI1.

Having the diamonds looked at for cleanness (paranoid after the not-eye-clean "eye clean" SI1). Since the stones are almost identical WF will give me either for the lower price.

Sounds like you gave it a good run. Yes, spotlighting should give good fire, which is why jewelry stores use it. The eye-clean part would have really bugged me, as well. WF ACA's are fabulous stones and I'm sure you will be happy with these--good to hear they are offering the same price for either.

Thats a pity the other diamond didn''t work out. As for the new contenders once you reach this level I don''t know if one is better than the other necessarily, check very carefully that these are eyeclean to your standards. If so then I think you could pick either with success.

Thanks guys :)

Yeah I was a disappointed with the very visible feather - but I have no regrets.

I can''t imagine what I would have ended up with had it not been for your time and input.

As you may have noticed the 0.901 is on reserve (for me). I was leaning towards that stone because the IS images seemed a little more pink.

Having the a "eagle eyed" WF staff member look for inclusions with a naked eye from a distance of 6 inches :)

Promise to provide pictures when it is all said and done :)

which one is better? :)

Both excellent, you could choose either one.

Ditto.

Hi Everyone,

The least I could do as a thank you for everyone who helped me is attach some pictures of my e-ring. Depending on the mood of FedEx I will have it tomorrow or Friday.

Once it comes in I''ll do my own photoshoot and post in right board.

love the glossy surface, helps to give the diamond a 3d feel. The shadows also show some additional fire.

Nice. :)

Hope you get it tomorrow. :)

Beautiful!
