mrs. taylor- did you get the pasta bowls? I found 2 in marigold at the factory store, and bought 2 scarlet & 2 peacock at Macy's. I searched the other stores in the mall for shamrock not realizing they're a Macy's exclusive item until I read your post just now. I lugged those things all over the mall, and they're not lightweight! I ended up back at Macy's and bought another scarlet and another peacock. They're a great size.

Ilander-yes, they have a huge tent sale twice a year I think. I have never been, but I understand that people show up with wagons and the line stretches pretty far, like a Black Friday sale. One of my coworkers goes every time and comes back with some good buys and unique pieces. I'm not that adventurous.

Fiestaware really intimidates me. I wish that I could do it because it seems like so much fun and a really good idea. I love all the different things you can get, and the heat, cold, etc resistance is awesome. But I think I am too Swedish for Fiestaware.

Just for a laugh ( and sorry for the hijack ) I'll show you the IKEA line which directly translated is called colorful . The only other two other colors is black and white. It can't really compare to Fiestaware, can it now?

Although Sweden is starting to embrace color. My mother in law has started to collect Mateus plates which is kinda the same concept as Fiestaware. Colorful and you can mix and match. She wants some bowls in the new lilac color for Christmas and my first reaction was aren't you going a tad overboard. She already has three colors, a nice dark forest green, beige and grey .

And for your viewing pleasure, Swedes idea of going crazy with color and mixing and matching.

So to conclude, I will be in the wings wishing that I too could be a Fiestaware convert but realizing that it can not be. I will forever lurk in your threads to get my Fiestaware kicks.

LOL! I laughed out loud at this!

A lot of my family is Finnish, so I get the whole dark, cold, "hope the summer comes on a weekend this year", kind of thing.

Don't worry, we can cover even the color phobic with Fiesta; Fiestaware Black.

We have the black luncheon plates and some black platters. They're QUITE sharp! We registered for the gusto bowls in black as well but didn't receive them. That's a-okay with me, though, because we've completely run out of cabinet space, LOL! The black and white look very fancy and expensive paired together!
