I am sooooo excited for you, Violet is beautiful!!! Congrats to you both! Sounds like she is very smart too! Glad that your kitty has decided that Violet can live with you (I know how those kitties can be,
OMG! She is way toooo cute. I want another dog! (We already have 2 and DH says no.)
Lily sleeps the same way at times and we call it "bouquet of legs" position.
How is she getting along with your cat?
She is fine with the cat, it is the cat that is not fine with her. However, the cat can be in the same room at a comfortable distance. As long as the dog shows no interest or is focused on something (like her kong), the cat is ok. For instance, right now, Violet is on the sofa with her kong and Omie is at a safe distance in one of the windows.
I hope you don''t take this suggestion the wrong way, but it probably is better if you take her choke chain off when she is not on the leash. I learned the hard way and one of my dogs got his own arm caught on it and he cried in pain. Luckily, he wasn''t injured, but I can only imagine that if he had gotten caught and I hadn''t been right there, he may have done some damage to his neck. Have fun!
No worries tigian. Actually, I am keeping the leash on, so I can grab her should she chase the cat or get into something she shouldn''t. However, I want to get a nylon collar so that I can take the chain off in the house. I hate that prong collar, I wish I could ditch it, but she was trained with it, so I guess I will use it when we go on our walks.
We have a 13-year-old black lab/pit mix named Biko. He is a LOVE!!! Seriously, he is one of the sweetest, most laid-back, well-behaved dogs I''ve ever met in my life. Just a WONDERFUL dog! I really don''t think you can go wrong with a pit mix. Congratulations again, to both you and Violet!
