Hi all

Thankyou for all the insightful contributions made here. I am a rank amateur looking for good bang for the buck for my upcoming engagement piece. I have been looking for an SI clarity H colored stone of about 1 carat.

Below is the best pics I could take of one option that is very much the right price. In bright sun it looks odd to my totally untrained eye. Almost like it has bubbles in it. I had a jeweler run it through a diamond tester and it is definitely genuine diamond. She said under the loophole it was somewhat 'messy' and had a question over its SI2 clarity.

Opinions are welcome

Thanks

Run!

Can you return the ring by any chance? It is very heavily included - I hate to say it but almost like frozen spit.

That diamond is really, really bad. You need to go look at some ideal cut diamonds to understand what to look for. That ring is not a bargain. I wouldn't spend $10 on it, to be honest. You might look on the pre-loved forum here on PS for second hand deals or Jewels By Grace carries some consignment pieces. You are in very dangerous territory if you don't limit your search to stones with either GIA Excellent cut grading or AGS Ideal cut grading. And SI1 clarity can be fine if graded by those two labs but you still have to look at them closely tp be sure they are eyeclean.

Price is NOT right. FREE would not be right. You'd have to pay ME to take that stone.

It appears to be a cloudy/milky stone that's why it looks odd. What is your budget and what are your goals? Do you want someone here to help you find something better?

Flush it down the toilet!... :knockout:
