As a novice, please know that I still don''t understand much about the numbers and how to interpret the images, so I am relying on all of your expert opinions. This is a stone that has been presented to me for consideration for my pendant.

But first, a picture of my new granddaughter. The picture pretty much sums up how I feel about this diamond buying experience and my lack of technical knowledge.

.91 ct. J SI1
Excellent
Depth-60.5
Table-57
Crown Angle-33.5
Crown Height-14.0
Pavillion Angle-41.0
Pavillion Depth 43.5
Star length 50
Lower half 80
Thin to slightly thick
Culet-None
Clarity-feather
$3000

I have some concerns that $120 to set the pendant in 14c white gold is so low that the chain would be flimsy. I need to understand what the average price range is for settings and chain. I want rabbit ear setting.

would make an excellent pendant stone
yea for 120 the chain would likely be pretty thin given the cost of gold.
personally I would just have it set in stuller setting and buy a chain separate.
With a rabbit ear setting you don't have to worry about threading the chain through it there should be lots of room.

Ditto, that would be a super pendant stone!

Thritto.

Thank you so much. You have no idea how much I value your input. It sounds like a home run! Lorelei, my daughter and I giggle every time we see your avatar. Her DH does DJ''ing on the side and we love cats, so ...well you know, it''s just adorable.

Now, I just need to continue my setting/chain education. Who knew that would be more complicated? I love Mara''s pendant setting, but was always told that bezel settings wouldn''t let as much light in. I thought I would initially go with a four prong setting, because I want those for my leverbacks, but I found this picture on PS today and I like the way her pendant floats. Would it be odd to have a martini setting for the pendant and a 4-prong for the earrings? I''ve also been searching "Stuller". It''s all Greek to me.

A bezel setting will still work well for a well cut stone, so no worries there. And if you want a martini setting for the pendant and 4 prong earrings thats fine, both styles will look great together!
