What shape is this please, is it a Princess? Does it have a GIA report?

My fault. Yes it is a Princess Cut and has a GIA report.

Not to worry! Ok it appears to be what we call a ' commercial' cut quality Princess, it is cut which gives a diamond its beauty so very important to get a well cut diamond. The trouble is with BN that they don't offer images such as photos and ASET which are essential in order to get a good idea of the diamond's cut and beauty. Trying to buy with just a few measurements only gives a broad outline of the diamond as there is so much info we are missing, it is really buying blind in my opinion.

So as such it might be a good looking diamond but there is really no way to tell without images. What you could do which would get you a better cut diamond is to look at some AGS0 Princess from BN if you prefer to buy there, that should get you into the ballpark of good cut quality, they do have a 30 day return policy so you can see the diamond for yourself.

Also with SI clarity grades check very carefully that such diamonds are eyeclean to your standards by getting the seller to find out for you and make your expectations clear, some SI might be eyeclean and some might not be, this grade is not created equal and there can be other factors which can make a difference too.

I agree with on the fact that it is buying blind. I figured if worst comes to worst it can be returned if I receive negative feedback after I have it appraised. They did say it was eye clean and there are no surface inclusions, black dots present or feathers. They did mention there was one natural and a little clouding. They reassured me that this stone will sparkle and I would be satisfied. If not I'll send it back right back. No matter what I like the setting a lot. Thanks!

So far I've been impressed by BN but hold no allegiance to them what so ever. I'll take another look at the cut you mentioned and see what pricing is like.

One thing, if there is a grade setting cloud ( one that is mapped on the plotting diagram on the GIA report) get the appraiser to check this out extremely carefully to make sure it isn''t dulling the brilliance of the diamond in any way. This is rare but it can happen.

The clouding isn't actually mapped on the diagram found on the GIA Report. This was verbally told to me over the phone. The only thing mapped is the natural. Regardless I will ask the appraiser to inspect what ever clouding is present carefully.

Ok that sounds fine, let us know how you get on!

When it arrives I''ll post a pic and an update.

Besides what you mentioned how does everything else sound; measurement and price wise?

The price - you can do a search for similar above using the Pricescope your Diamond tool, BN are competitively priced. The measurements look ok although they can be variable in Princess.
