I am seriously considering the following diamond, which has two characteristics I did not initially want: lower color rating J (I wanted G or better) and strong blue fluorescence. However, after research here on PS I am now open to it, though admittedly still hesitant.Would love to get some feedback.

SHAPE Round
0.9 Ct., COLOR J, VS1, CUT GRADE 0 - Ideal
MEASUREMENTS 6.24 - 6.28 x 3.83 mm
FLUORESCENCE Strong Blue
TABLE SIZE 56.6 %
TOTAL DEPTH 61.2 %
PAVILION ANGLE 40.8 °
CROWN ANGLE 34.2 °
AGS REPORT

This would go on a solitare setting. Any advice?

It looks promising. This is how it did on the HCA http://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp

Factor Grade
Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 1.1 - Excellent
within TIC range

Can you get an Idealscope from the vendor? Also, there is a great journal article that the vendors discussed strong fluor and and they hardly ever see any milkiness. It is halfways down http://journal.pricescope.com/Articles/58/1/%e2%80%9cAppraise-the-Appraiser%e2%80%9d---Help-for-Consumers.aspx

Looks good so far. Is the grading report fairly recent?

Gorgeous!!!! :)

This should be an amazing diamond. It''s AGS0 Ideal cut - which means the light return will be stunning. VS1 is a great clarity grade, it''s a lovely size (close to a carat but a whole lot cheaper) and I''m *loving* the J colour with strong blue fluorescence!

As long as you get the vendor to confirm the fluorescence is not affecting the diamond negatively at all (by making it look oily or milky) it''ll be just lovely! (Negative effects of fluorescence are rare, but do check. Loads od PSers actually prefer fluorescent diamonds as it''s a really cool effect!).

I think it sounds like a real winner. :)

Ditto, and I would add that fluorescence has been noted to make a lower colored diamond look whiter. I think you have a winner!

Here is a picture of the idealscope shots from the report. The report calls out fathers and small indendations, both on the perimeter.

Looks beautiful!

I am glad to hear you guys like this diamond. Being a newbie, its nice to be reassured by the veterans.

Should be a beauty, and the strong blue fluorescence will probably make it look like an "I" color in indirect sunlight. In direct you might see a hint of faint blue to it, which I enjoy immensely.

It looks gorgeous, grab that baby up! I can''t wait to be able to afford another diamond so I can get one like that. I love the lower colors, especially when they turn blue in the sun!

Super gorgeous!!!

That sounds WONDERFUL! I have been learning about flourescence myself and will definitely be looking for it for mine when the time comes. Meanwhile, may I live vicariously through you? Hope you''ll post lots of photos.
