Hi again,

I need to make a decision today regarding the diamond found in this thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/i-think-i-found-my-ring-opinions-plz.137791/

I''m getting a little nervous that there is a feather that looks like it goes along the girdle (north - south) on the left side of the crown, and then another one on the pavillion that goes east to west on the right side. They are a bit difficult to see in the image I was sent. I keep reading that you should stay away from feathers that are near or cross the girdle.

I think I''m a little crazy for choosing a VS2, but I don''t want to see any inclusions from the top or pavillion side. I''ve seen many stones in B&M stores that had dark inclusions or large feathers that were visible from the pavillion and I know they would drive me crazy.

That said, I also don''t want a stone that could potentially have a durability risk.

Please HELP!!

Thank you!!!

A VS2 feather should be ok. I was told by an appraiser that as long as a feather doesn't cross the girdle into both the upper half and lower half of the diamond, it should be fine.

Hi Bella

VS feather shouldn''t normally pose a problem but if it would make you feel better, arrange to discuss the stone with one of JA''s gemologists, that should put your mind at ease.

Thank you both! I will set up an appt to speak with the gemologist and go from there.

Laila and I are glad to help!

Looks like a beautiful stone! Hope all turns out good.

Thanks everyone! I ordered the stone today and should hopefully have it early next week. I spoke to Julianne, the gemologist at James Allen, and she told me not to worry about the feathers, especially considering it''s a VS2 stone. Still, it''s very near or on the girdle, so I asked James Allen to put a prong over the feather just to be safe. I have two little girls and who knows what can happen.

I''m very excited and can''t wait to see it! I will definitely keep everyone posted and post some pics when I get it.

All the best,
Bella (Michelle)
