Long time lurker here searching for THE engagement ring. I have learned a ton on this forum but I would like your opinion on my number 1 pick.

Shape: Round
Carat weight: 1.61
Cut: Ideal (very good according to GIA)
Color: H
Clarity: SI2
Certificate: GIA

Depth: 61.7%
Table: 57.0%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Very thin to medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.51*7.54*4.64

It has an HCA score of 1.6.

I'm paying $11,140.00

I'm pretty happy about everything except the fact that it has an extra facet and that it has some feathering near the girdle. The feathering is really only visible on the under part of the diamond but appears ever so slightly above. The feather covers almost 2 facets in length. Should I be concerned about the diamonds structural integrity?

Thank you so very much for any help you can provide.

I am no expert, but I would personally be very concerned with a feather near the very thin girdle of an SI2 stone.

The people at James Allen seem convinced that this is the diamond for me -- they have even encouraged me to not consider more expensive diamonds.

Should I rely on their judgment?
