mine is...
"This is MY NAME."

I just figure it makes it easier for people not to have to ask if so and so is there if they already know who they are talking to....

At work: "Oakland County"

At home: "Oakland Cou - crap, I''m sorry, hi."

I often accidentally answer the phone at home the way I do at work (900 calls a week will do that to you).

At work, it's "Good morning/afternoon. NameofCompany, Liz speaking."

At home or on my cell, it's usually "hello?"

At work: "Billing, this is Liz."

On the celly: "yellow" or "This is Liz."

On rare occasion: "Liz's House of Pain, how can we hurt you?"

ETA: when I go back to my parent's house, I usually answer "LASTNAME Residence, Middle Child Speaking." I do that because my mother, my sisters and myself all sound pretty much identical.

Hello....?

If it''s BF it''s usually "what did you forget now?" or "what do you need?" lol

When I was in Tokyo, I would answer "mush mush" (that''s what it sounds like! everyone says mushi mushi really fast!)

In Korean, "yuh boh seh yo?" I suck at phonetic spelling. Sorry.

We have caller ID, so if I know who it is I will answer Hi and their name. They do the same to me.

If we don''t know who it is, we answer "hello".

I went through a phase in high school where I'd answer, in a sarcastic voice, with "Yes?!"

I was a brat for a little while. Now, it's usually "Hello?" unless it's someone I LOVE, in which case it usually comes out as "HI!!!!!!!!" in a high-pitched squeaky excited voice.

My brother often answers the phone with: "(....silence.....) Oh........ (silence.....) who is this?" lol.

I just say hello. Unless its my ex husband, I usually say ''What?'' if its him lol!

I have a terrible habit which is a throw back to us being married. I used to call him and the first thing I would say is ''hiya, where are you?'' because he is in the army and isn''t always allowed to talk. Now if I call him I always say the same thing. Funny thing is he always tells me where he is!

Hahaha, this is how I answer my phone. "HI!!!!!!!" - pretty much everyone is caught off guard, because they''re used to the exchange of:

"Hello?"
"Hi, it''s Joe!"
"Oh, Hi Joe! How are you?"

and I think my "HI!!!!!!!!" throws that all off, because it''s clear that I know who you are and I''m excited to see your number on caller ID.

If I don''t recognize the number, I say "Hello..?" and if I do recognize the number but it''s a professional contact, "Hi, this is Elmorton speaking"

At work, I rarely answer the phone, but if I do, I just say "Elmorton Lastname"

a friend of mine, who is NOT Spanish speaking, always says "Bueno!" and I love that.

With caller ID, I know who''s calling so I answer accordingly. If it''s DH and he''s called me 3x already, I answer, "I know, I can''t get enough of me either." But, usually with him it''s either "yeah?" or "hi". For the rest of the people, it varies between "yellow" ocassionally "purple" (in the yellow variation). I also do a lot of the "Bob''s crematorium, you kill em, we grill em" "Joe''s taxidermy, you snuff em, we stuff em." "Roadkill cafe, woud you like to try our possum?" Sometimes, just for fun when my mom calls, I answer like I''m all out of breath and I say things after I answer the phone, but before i speak to her. Like "unhook the swing" or "don''t forget the handcuffs."

...my dad who gets an exasperated "WHAT?!" or "Uh huh?"...

...and FI who gets a "Hi Lovey!!!"

If I don''t know who it is or for friends, it''s just . . . Hello?

If it''s hubby and the kids are NOT within earshot . . .
31.gif
If they are, it is usually . . . Hello my love!

My mom gets . . . Hi mommy! Similarly, dad gets . . . Hi daddy!

My sister gets a strange kind of "Hello" in a wacky voice. It''s just our funky thing for each other.

If the in-laws are calling there''s usually no answer. Just me shreiking from the bowels of the house, "LET THE MACHINE GET IT!!!"
