Favorite Summer Time Desserts...?

Okay, it''s summer- time for nice cool light desserts
My favorite this summer are the Trader Joe''s Mango Sorbet and the Ciao Bello Blood Orange Sorbet (the latter came from my favorite Italian grocer).

So, what do you guys recommend for desert this time of year?

imo, it''s good any time of year--especially with some cool vanilla ice cream

I''ve been through a Strawberry Shortcake phase this summer ... and now I''m onto Orange Sherbert in Cake Cones. Though I just found a "rainbow" combo of Orange, Lime & Lemon that hit the spot also. I''ve NEVER liked sherbert -- but I had my first hangover in about 10 years over vacation & the only thing that seemed tolerable was .... you guessed it. Ever since I''ve been a fan. **shrug**

Grand Luxe has amazing strawberry shortcake, their beignets (spelling) and creme brulee are fantastic too.

What is Rita''s Water Ice...? Ice cream/sorbet? I''ve never heard of it...

It''s a Jersey thing...I know because my brother lives there now and his wife explained to me that it was a ''Jersey thing.''


It''s like slush but thicker. Comes in all different types of flavors and they put a big dollop of soft serve ice cream in it. It''s good.

That''s my fave! I''m hooked on fresh honeydew, cantalope, strawberries, blueberries, and sliced bananas. Also black plums when we can get them. They are so sweet when ripe, they make your teeth hurt.

Oh my goodness, it is so delicious. I haven''t found good bubble tea since I left Boston, sadly, until recently. Found this amaaazing teahouse in the E. Village with great bubble tea. And a great dessert place with great fruit tarts. And a fantastic ice cream place. Anyone in NY want to do a dessert/bubble tea run with me?
