What is your favorite season? Why?

I personally love the fall the most. Here in Philly, I love that it cools down into the low 70's.

I also love everything associated with the Fall. Apple Cider, Cinnamon, pumpkins.

I love that the leaves turn into various colors of yellow, orange, and red. I like the way the air smells...

I love bonfires and making s'mores :)

I live in the midwest where Summer is HOT and Winter is COLD and Spring and Summer are Mild. There are things I love about all of the seasons, but my heart is in the South or anyplace where its HOT to mild year round!

I would have said Fall without thinking twice until this past year. I lived in the midwest all my life where the Falls are AMAZING. But being in Texas in the Spring was pretty fantastic this year. There are wildflowers everywhere! So I guess depending on where I live my favorites change.

I am also a Fall girl! I live in Massachusetts not far from the Berkshires and I love the leaves changing color, going to the pumpkin patch, the temperature, and the apple cider donuts! Yumm!

Fall without a doubt. My favorite holidays are in the fall. I love the weather, the smells, the sounds (crunching leaves), and the colors of the fall.

Your description is making me majorly crave the fall right now!

It will be here before we know it!

Football Season!!!

Summer! I like aspects of the Fall but I get depressed thinking that Winter is around the corner. Here in the Midwest, to me, Winter is a curse. The only good thing about winter is that it makes you appreciate summer more.

Summer means bonfires, t-shirts and flip flops, grilling out, fresh fruits and veggies (sweet corn!), the smell of fresh cut grass, fireworks, boating, weddings.... oh I could go on and on. So far from the worries of scraping the ice of your windshield or warming up the car for 10 minutes before you go anywhere. No snow to shovel. No leaves to rake. Ahh....

Fall, no question. The leaves turn a medley of colors, the new school year is here or it's just about to begin, and there's a crisp cool edge to the air so it's not too hot but not too cold, yet. It's the season of apple picking, and long bike rides, hot cider, new school supplies, and pumpkin patches with hay rides. I can't get enough of fall. I'm excited just thinking about it!

AND, my birthday is in October, so that's a bonus, too. :cheeky:

I throw a big party called Apple Fest every October and it is my favorite party of the year. We invite all of our friends and family with kids (and without) to go apple picking with us in the early afternoon, which in itself is a ton of fun. THEN, everyone comes back to our house for an entire day of apple slicing, dicing, peeling, and dunking. I have a lot of games ready for everyone to play, we create a huge feast with our day's pickings, and everyone leaves for home long after the sun sets with full bellies and the crisp scent of fresh apples on their fingertips. And a bag full of apple treats.

I love Apple Fest. I've already started picking out new recipes for this year's feast. I can't wait.

I'm a summer girl. Lying in the sun by any kind of water, river, lake, sea, or pool, makes me happy. Summer vacations make me happy.

It's a lot better, though, when I'm in dry weather. East Coast USA (where I lived for many years) humidity is not really my cup of tea.

Winter!

The colours, bundling up in a coat, the snow, hot cider by a fire, the festivities - love it all

I love late fall (because of my birthday) but my absolute favourite is winter (the holidays, snow, snuggling in front of the fire...)

I love summer. Over here, it's the only time that we might get some nice sun. I love being off college and having the bright evenings to do things.

Fall all the way--- it's absolutely gorgeous and the weather is perfect (princeton nj area). i love the colors, the mood, the pumpkins! The temperature is perfect in late september/early october. I can't wait for fall--- all of this hot, humid weather stinks :knockout: !

Same here. About 25 mins outside of Philly and Fall is by far my fave season. Love october with the crispness to the air. Apple picking, pumkins, mums, the clear nights, hiking when the leaves have changed color! Can't wait........

I love the Fall and Spring almost equally. I love the feeling the air gets as the seasons change, the hot summer air going to cooler, drier breeze and similarly, the cold winter sun warming over the weeks leading into spring. Also the flowers in spring time and the leaves, apples and pumpkins of fall. I also like that the temperatures are pretty moderate versus extreme like summer and winter. Extreme temps get old after while. I'm hoping, given the August-like weather we've had in the NE all summer, we have an early fall this year so I can actually spend some time outside before the LO arrives.

LAJen, you beat me to it!!! Nothing beats Football Season...ESPECIALLY COLLEGE Football Season!!!

GO BLUE!

I think I love spring the most. The flowers popping out and the relief that winter is over seems to refresh my winter weary heart.

Spring! Love those mild, breezy spring days. There's something so fresh and promising about spring.

We don't have seasons in Florida. I love November - January because of all of my favorite holidays and there's a higher chance of having a week or two of cool weather.

When I lived in NY, Spring was my favorite time of the year.

I used to love Spring the most because I looked forward to planting my flowers and veggies, but now the heat of Summer bothers me, so I'd have to say Autumn. I love everything harvest! Picking pumpkins, the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg, the anticipation of the winter holidays. I also love the cooler weather and taking out my sweaters and leather jackets. The end of Sept./beginning of October can't come soon enough for me!

Add me to the list of those who love fall. I love everything about it--I love apple-picking and making every apple pastry under the sun. Oh, and eating apple donuts and drinking apple cider while picking apples, haha. I love the colors, I love the chill in the air. I love the smell. Getting married in the fall was a no-brainer for me. Often people say that the only downside to fall is that it means winter is coming, but winter is my second-favorite season--I much prefer it over summer, so I'm happy that it means winter is coming. There is literally nothing I don't love about fall.

Autumn. I just love everything about it. The air is changing, the leaves are beautiful, it's so nice. I HATE the winter (except Christmas)!

I'm a fall kind of gal. I love the crisp cool air, and the crows, I love the way things smell. I love pumpkin and cinnamon and getting to make fun things baking. Halloween is probably my favorite holiday.

Here in SE PA, FALL, definitely.

Leaves changing colors and all the fall festivals. Hot tea, hot cider, soup weather! Pumpkin carving, cool crisp evenings warming our hands near the fire pit and roasting marshmallows. Turning the clocks back 1 hour (Extra sleep), Halloween, Thanksgiving, my birthday!

I like all the seasons for different reasons, but if I had to pick one favorite, it would be fall. I love everything about fall: the colors, pumpkins, picking apples and making apple crisp, and the crisp air.

My next favorite is summer because it's a relaxing time of year and I get tons of time off.

Fall. You know that lovely smell that hangs in the air when the leaves are falling? That smell always reminds me of the many years I spent in marching band (both as a member and a teacher), which begins in August and ends in November. That smell is like a wave of happy memories to me. :))

Autumn by far! In fact, I am getting excited already that it is just around the corner. October can't get here fast enough! I used to live in Philly too, but now I live in Missouri and the leaves aren't as spectacular when they change color...that's one thing I miss about home.

This thread has me aching for the fall!
