I searched and didn’t find a similar thread :)

(I am immersed in these for my Hope Box, for those who may have read the post!)

Please share if you wish ❤️ !

How did this thread get missed ???

“We honor our parents by carrying their best forward and laying the rest down. By fighting and taming the demons that laid them low and now reside in us.”
Bruce Springsteen

Here's a thread with some oldies but goodies.

I have many favorite quotes.

This is one of my favorites.

"You need three things to be happy; someone to love, something to do, something to look forward to"

And this one.
We need this to be taken to heart IMO.

"Be yourself everyone else is already taken..."
~ Oscar Wilde (1854 -- 1900) ~

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Dr. Seuss

”The devil whispered in my ear, you’re not strong enough to withstand the storm. I whispered in the devil’s ear,
I am the storm.” Sophie Wardle

”Not all storms come to disrupt your life; some come to clear your path.” Unknown

“If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” Mother Teresa

“A couple of years from now, everything you’re stressing about won’t even matter. Keep moving forward.” Unknown

“Accept what is, Let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.” Sonia Ricotti

A knowledge which increases anyone’s appreciation of the beauty and value of esthetic objects, increases happiness.”

Margaret Finfrock, “The American Gem Society” Gems & Gemology, 1934
If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.-- Mr. Fred Rogers

The thing I remember best about successful people I’ve met all through the years is their obvious delight in what they’re doing and it seems to have very little to do with worldly success. They just love what they’re doing, and they love it in front of others.
.-- Mr. Fred Rogers

It's a fine sentiment, but I doubt the Oscar Wilde said it or wrote it. Quote Investigator agrees:

Whether it's a quote by Oscar Wilde depends on where you look:

It's okay if Oscar Wilde didn't say the quote, I still like it.

None of these sites names specific sources. Quote Investigator does.

Misattribution of sayings is very common, especially on the net. Oscar Wilde and Mark Twain are notorious 'quote magnets'. They are famously witty and wrote a lot, so it's next to impossible to prove that they didn't write a particular saying. To me, the language of this quote does not feel late 19th century, and it seems to lack the polished wit of a genuine Wilde-ism. I will believe it's by Wilde if someone can point to a specific source.

But sincerely, I don't mean to derail this thread. It's an inspiring thought, whoever said it.
