We love to spice up food around our house. Our 2 favorite sauces (I know, they aren't really that hot) are
Franks Red Hot sauce and Cholula Hot Sauce. I would rank them both about a 4 on a scale of 1-10 (hottest).
Red Hot is good on wings, buffalo chicken sandwiches and eggs. Cholula we like on subs and eggs.

I'm looking for some new ones to try so if you have a fav hot sauce please let me know. If you can give it a hotness rating
(1-10 hottest) and tell what its good on that would be great too.

I LOVE Franks! It's my favorite. I can't get it here, so I've been using Tabasco and I like it too, especially the chipotle one. Yum!!

Tobasco. Hands down.

Tears of joy Tequila Lime, it's not very hot maybe less than 3 but the flavor is sublime!

1. Frank's Hot Sauce
2. Green Tabasco

We love us some hot sauce!

Cholula is the main one that my husband likes... but he likes red cock (not sure the name, but it's red with a rooster) and some chinese stuff I shouldn't bother mentioning since you can't find it...

Salsa Valentina, black label - nice, hot and tasty
Guatemalan Pica Mas - oooh, this is delicious. It isn't the hottest hot sauce around (but it is plenty hot) but the taste is delicious. It doesn't just add hotness to a dish, it adds flavour as well. I hoard my little bottle.

Sriracha (I think It's Thai or Vietnamese). Love it on everything, especially on Asian dishes like pho, sushi, dumplings....

That's the Sriracha sauce I'm talking about! Believe it or not, it's available at a lot of American stores, including Target!

Mmm....Frank's!

Did you know that Sriracha is produced in USA? They say the US version is different than the traditional Thai Sriracha sauce.

ETA: I like Tapatio.

True story! I remember either Bon Appetit or Food and Wine did a big article on the maker last year and featured a bunch of Siracha (or rooster sauce, as I call it) based recipes.

My personal favorite is Frank's, which I'd rate a 3 or 4 out of 10 on the hotness scale; SO likes Cholulo (sp?).

My husband is practically addicted to this stuff. He puts it on everything, too.

I used to use Frank's a lot but I can't handle spicy things anymore. :(sad

DH and I love Sriracha! I swear he puts that on everything. He has quite the collection of hot sauces. One is named Ass in Space and another is called The Final Answer - it's 1.5 million scoville units. I'm not brave enough to try it. I seriously think that could put someone in the hospital. :errrr:

My DH too. He puts it on EVERYTHING!!!

I'm very sensitive to peppers, so I don't use a lot of hot sauce, but when I do it's Frank's Red Hot or Tabasco. We have a TON of different (funny named) hot sauces, as we have a chili pepper theme in our kitchen.

I prefer Tapatio!

DH is from the Bayou and LOVES Louisiana Hot Sauce or Tabaco.

I love Sriracha, chili garlic paste (can't remember who makes it), and green tabasco.

I'm from the Caribbean where people make their own, with habaneros or scotch bonnets. In the US a brand made from Trinidad (where I'm from) can be found in some groceries in the Caribbean food section. It's called Matouks. I usually only buy their hottest flavour. It's red, and...deadly!

Thanks guys for all the input...I'm writing all these down and will start picking some of them up. Some of them
sound very interesting! Spicy food ...yum!

Sriracha !! My fav is still frank's red hot.
