When my first daughter was born, I had a beautiful 1.14ct OEC set into a simple milgrain bezel to commemorate her arrival, but also with the intention of eventually giving it to her when she graduates from university or gets her first job (or something).

I've now had another gorgeous little girl, but haven't figured out what to make "for" her (for me, for now!) yet. I have a stone in mind - it's a stunning OEC with the most beautiful, symmetric, flower patterning (it is remarkably similar to an AVR) but it is only 0.7ct and about 5.5mm in diameter, so considerably smaller. Given that she was born in September, I was thinking of putting it in some kind of blue sapphire halo, but I'm not sure what I want.

I think I would like it to be bezelled, but beyond that - no further inspiration yet. I would like to consider some design possibilities - maybe more petal/marquise-shaped motifs, etc, but I'm also aware that the diamond is quite small and I don't want to overwhelm it.

Anyone able to post some inspiration pics?

Suggestions for a vendor to make it?

It don't care for sapphires so don't ask me about that. Either simple diamond halo or do the same setting as you did for daughter one.

However that being said I have two daughers 23 and 25 and I want to give them gifts of equal value so they feel good about it. That is why i am suggesting since the second stone is .70 to put in diamond halo not sapphires.

I also have experiience loosing a mother with alot of jewelry and two sisters it was tough trying to equal out the jewelry even though we are generally not materialistic and we are very very close.

So beware of jewelry and daughters jumping ahead 20 years or so lol

Wow- what a fun project! Congrats on your baby girl. I am not sure if you would be open to other ideas than the halo, but I posted these in case you were open. There are tons of sapphire halos on Pinterest, so I tried to post some ideas that don't come up in that search.

The way the diamond is set will make it look slightly bigger and if you can find sapphire kites or trillions, I think it would be super unique/cool.

Or something like this with sapphire side stones.

This is a pretty/different take on a halo. I am not sure I love the side view and I know nothing about this vendor, but I figured I would add it to the inspiration list.

I've seen pictures of others who have worked with David Klass on antique style rings but haven't worked with him directly. Good luck on your search!

Sorry- I missed the word pendant! Clearly I got ahead of myself and posted rings. Sorry about that.

I also think making them equal is a good idea. I also vote for a halo necklace with diamonds. It's still a diamond but with a slightly different look.

This pendant was done with a larger stone, so I am not sure how it would translate with one that size. But it is pretty magnificent! Made by CvB Inspired Design. You could do tiny sapphires like this or all diamonds.

Me, too! I adore the sides!

diamondseeker I LOVE that setting - I don't like the filigree sides (not my thing) but the front is gorgeous!

Re making the pendants "equal" I don't know that it's that important - these are not the only pieces that the girls will receive over time and there will be other ways to "equalise" :)

Diamondseeker. That pendant is gorgeous. It would also be beautiful as a ring.
What size is the stone? Do you have info on it?

OMG, this!! This would be GORGEOUS with tiny sapphires or in all diamonds.

OP, you could have this recreated. I've seen it on a 1 .25 ct and a 1.5 ct stone, and it was amazeballs! On a 2 ct, not so much... LOL
