i have a lot of respect to the significant wealth of info this forum offers, i have been reading a lot of interesting posts that increased my knowledge about diamonds in fairly short period of time, thx to the kind members and sponsors that are professional with the answers to questions posted by newbies like me and pros.

i was looking for a diamond fancy colored stone in the center and two high quality smaller white diamond stones on the sides in an Asscher cut on a yellow 18k gold ring.

i searched the site and i had few links from threads posted about fancy colored diamonds and found this one:
http://www.fancydiamonds.net/View_Diamonds/2102.htm

the link to the GIA report:
http://www.fancydiamonds.net/certificate/3c728.jpg/View_Diamonds/2102.htm

any advice on the quality of cut from the report since the stone is overseas and i called their number and the pleasant lady that spoke with me said she will send me more photos. She was kind enough to tell me that the depth could be too much but she has seen it in their office before it went overseas and it does sparkle and fires nice.

any advices on the price and the cut dimensions are greatly appreciated.

Bump....!

I would check out diamondsbylauren.com, they sell tons of colored diamonds

I did check that site...the prices were as expected high off my budget. But the one i posted fell within what i want to pay and it seemed a bigger diamond, so is the cut parameters good and is the price good, or it is not worth the price?

I don''t like the cut of that stone at all! The steps do nothing regarding light return. Why don''t you take a look at some of the threads about asscher cuts and take a look at what the visual should be. Think windmills.

what piece of jewelry is this gonna be, engagement ring?

A late one for my wife...lol
i owe her one, and am looking at colored diamonds with clear ones so if you have an idea about what can work the best for a budget 10k +/-. thx

Are you going for that brown color.....would she like that, if you wanted color i would probley look more into sapphires but i know as a women i would really like that white diamond engagement ring bc it matches everything....just me tho

May be fancy yellow ....? i think she likes the color . i found one on sam''s would you tell me if it is a good buy?

http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=403352

so if i want to put one similar to it how much more on the budget for more vivid color.

Please don''t get that ring from Sam''s club...it''s likely to be pretty bad with the picture they show...

Have you tried Wink at Winfield''s Jewelers? He is a great guy and always seems to have access to oddities and colored stones...

looks like it is maybe enhanced color? The warning said that it has lead? Where did that come from in a normal ring?

No i was not planning on getting it from there but something close to that setting nice central fancy stone with clear diamonds on a thin ring but to fit 10k budget.
the fancy stone is throwing me off track.

I guess im not understanding what you want bc i just gave you some nice options under 10 grand

i like the first link thx for it

http://rockdiamond.com/index.php/jewelry/semi-mount--custom-platinum-claw-setting-w-channel-set-princess-cuts

it is a good start. thx again.

what is your opinion on this chocolate ring and is mark broumand reputable place to buy from ...i see somwhat big drop in prices on the advertised rings and stones to the degree that made me wonder.

http://www.markbroumand.com/product/190ct-Fancy-Chocolate-Diamond-Ring---Custom-Made__423-1S1199054.aspx

i think its cheaper bc its a 1.05 center and i don''t think brown diamonds have the premium of say a fancy yellow color

this ring from the link you sent to me is 9600$ and i think she would like it is the price is good for it.
the central yellow orange looks good . and it may fit the occasion better since it is a late ring rather than an engagement setting.

Edit:
please forgive my repeated questions ...the more i look and search the more things become difficult.

How is your search going...fancy colored diamonds are more difficult...learn as much as you can...as for brown...I would think twice about that ...make sure

I know you looked at diamonds by lauren...and they were too much...but they do a lot of work with colored diamonds...perhaps if you let them know what you are looking for...and price range...they may have something for you that is not on their website...or they can make what you want...

ditto to what diane5006 said

I couldn't think of the name until i saw one of their advertisements but icestore.com has many colored diamonds in your price range, i would call them also and see what they can do for you

I don't know but something like this could possible be nice http://www.icestore.com/search/yellow_diamond_detail.asp?ID=69
Im sure they could send you pics and tell you if its worth buying or not
