It''s Friday...got any rants and raves for the week?

Rant: my daughter has been cranky all week. I hate "daycare drip"...it''s making her miserable!

Rave: I punt her right back into daycare...yay! I don''t have to deal with her!

Oh, and I finally got myself a new house cleaner who is doing her good deeds as we speak. I really needed to clean my house!
 
I have really enjoyed reading these over the past couple of weeks, but never participated. Here it goes:

Rant: D and I have spent a staggering amount of time and energy over the past few months trying to restore our dog's vision. Yesterday, after a minor setback that required another injection, we found out that our ophthalmologist injected the WRONG medicine into our dog's eye. Instead of a solution which would break up the post-surgery blood clot that had formed in his eye, she injected a female hormone used to stimulate ovulation. He'll be fine, but he had to stay in the hospital overnight.

Rave: As a little birthday treat for myself I scheduled a facial and eyebrow shaping tonight coupled with cut and color tomorrow (which I am using to completely change my hair). I'm not usually the spa or pampering type, but between buying the house and our dog issues, I am so excited to have a little bit of time to relax!!

ETA: D just called and the facial/eyebrow shaping may need to be cancelled, but whatever, I still have tomorrow!
 
Oh I am all over this thread this week...I have me a big rant but not sure I can find a rave in there.

Rant: This is my first week back at work form maternity leave. My husband (who travels a lot for work) is on a 6 day golf trip this week. These two things together would be irritating in and of themselves, but add to it my two year-old has a cold and is a clingy mess and my 3 month old has pneumonia and a sinus infection and you get one h*** of a mess.

Rave: While it''s sort of a rant too because she''s driving me crazy with her clingyness, my two year-old is in a major love for her mommy phase. She''s usually a total daddy''s girl so I really love all the hugs and cuddles I''ve gotten the past few days.
 
rant: I think my dentist cracked my tooth when she did my filling and there is no way to prove it.

rave: that I live in a country and a time with advance dentistry. That there are solutions for every problem.
 
Rant: pregnancy kept me up all night again tossin & a turnin and a peeing. So sleepy, annoyed and unmotivated at work and face a huge ''to do'' list when i do get to break free of this place!

Rave: Heading to Toronto with a good friend (also preggo so we can freely/shamelessly talk babies and bellies for 4 hours in the car) to visit my sister. Shopping, spa treatment and meals out is ALL that we have planned till i return to reality Sunday night.

Rant-Learning to stand in the crib in the middle of the night is a milestone I would have been happy not to witness

Rant-FI has gone out twice this week after work and works all day on Saturday.
Rave-Because of the above, I''m taking all of Sunday morning/afternoon to hang out by myself. I don''t like to do things alone too much because I work and want to spend any extra time I have with DD but I need some alone time. So I''m going to do my nails, shop a little, meet a friend for coffee, and then stare at something lol
 
Rave: I''m going to the beach this weekend! I leave right after work for a day and a half of friends, sun, sand, and surf.

Rant: I don''t get off of work until 10:00 tonight, and I have a 3 1/2 hour drive to the beach alone.
 
Rant: This afternoon I am off to spend the whole weekend with DH''s *entire* family (that includes grandparents, my in-laws, his 7 aunts and uncles plus their husbands and wives, and all of their 30 or so children). Anniversary "weekend" for his grandparents. Many of them are passive-aggressive and some are just outright unfriendly. I am not looking forward to this. At all. Then we come back Sunday afternoon and I spend the next week and a half studying for finals.

Rave: In less than two weeks I am done with college forever!
 
Rant: I have two students who earned grades of Incomplete this semester, which means I will have to spend more time this summer working with the both of them.

Rave: Other than that, I''M ON SUMMER VACATION!!!!
 
Rant: Kyle''s been cranky all week for no aparent reason. He completey fell apart at dinner last night, including melting in the high chair, screaming, and refusing to open his mouth for food. Tantrums here we come!

Rave: DH and I had a good discusion on baby #2, and he has agreed that if I really don''t want another, then we''re good. I was starting to worry that my refusal to have another baby would become an issue between us in the future. Now I feel free to spoil my munchkin and give away all the infant junk!
 
Rant: My mother texts or calls me to share all of my brother''s news. I talk to him too, you know!

Rave: I feel lucky to have parents that show such interest in our lives.

Rant-Longest week ever!!!!! Newsflash, when you are onboarding a new employee, it''s not a good time for you and the admin to both go on vacation,esp. when there are several MAJOR events happening. Said new employee (me) is not happy she''s worked a 60 hour week

Rave-it''s friday!!!!

Rant-My house is a distaster, some from me, but mostly b/c LAST WEEKEND DH decided to "clean out his closet" which entailed strewing basket after basket of old moldering dirty clothes from a year ago all over our apartment.

Rave-it will be great by Sunday night when it is all clean, and I know said modlering dirty clothes are not trapped behind his closet door

Rant: besides crappy work stuff, I''m still mad at my sister. She has not called to apologize for blurtng out about my pregnancy before we found out it was viable. Her bridal shower is this weekend, and I''m really upset still that she has not called me. I told my mom that all she needs to do is call me and apologize, but she told my mom that she apologized (by text when I was asking her why she did what she did. It was a "sorry. I can''t do anything about it. I guess I understand if you hate me.") I don''t take that as an apology, and I''m not giving in to her stupid drama filled life and calling her.

Rave: hubby and I went clothes shopping for him last night, and he got NICE clothes....that weren''t even from the clearance rack! Then, with the "kohls cash" he got ($30) I get to use it for stuff for me! (I need some new bras)
 
I''m sorry for everyone''s rants (especially when it had to do with sick kids or animals) but yay...a lot of your raves are great!

I''m raving that my house in now clean, but RANT: Cleaning lady did a crap job. I mean, after she left, I had to mop my own floors since there was water droplets all over it and she only swept. Going down the list to the next cleaning lady (there were only two on my list). *sigh*

Have a great weekend everyone...it''s always fun to see how your week has ended off!
 
Rant: I have a headache. I''m peeved that my boss pushed a reporting assignment that should have been done by another member of the management team onto me.

Rave: It''s Friday and I am only working 3 days next week then it''s a looong weekend for me. I know deep down that my boss specifically tasked me with the reporting assignment because he trusts me and knows that I will get the report done early (unlike the other member of my mgmt team).
 
This is all over the course of the past week and a half.


Rave - I graduate from College in August!

Rant- Graduation may not happen because.... three weeks ago I needed three classes to graduate, I had signed up for all of them over the summer, no biggie. Two weeks ago, they cancelled the first class due to lack of enrollment, fine, I scrambled and found another class. Yesterday, they cancelled the second class, BIG DEAL. This class is a prerequisite for the third class and if I can''t figure it out I will have to stay in college for another YEAR. At $24,000, that''s not happening. So now i''m forced to cram two levels of French into a four week summer session in which I have to get a C or higher. I am scared shitless.

Rave- I got approved by the apartment community that I want to move to after graduation

Rant- If I don''t graduate i''ll be homeless as my current apartment has already been released.

Rant- Because my Fiance is not going to graduate on time, I have had to postpone our wedding indefinitely.

Rave- due to the postponement I may get a new (to me) car.

Rant- The ring that I have been dreaming about for a year, my graduation present, has been totally screwed over by two of the best jewelers in the city. I finally gave up and took the ring home now that the stone is scratched and the setting is missing a diamond.

Rave- I''m going to scrap that setting and put the stone in a Leon!

Rant- when I got to Clemson I was told I didn''t need an e-portfolio, fast forward to today, surprise, I need one. So now I have to write 19 papers by graduation.


Ahhhh my life is fabulous!
 
Rave: My son is coming home from college tonight. I am so proud of him!! He got an A- in Arabic.. And made the golf team his Freshman year...

Rave: DD is graduating from U of Penn. She was nominated for the Student award of merit. She is co chair of the senior gift fund to Penn and has worked her tail off all year to raise as much money as she could. She gave a speech in front of the entire senior class this week. She was nervous, but she rocked it.

Rave: It''s Friday and the weekend''s here. That''s always rave-worthy.

Rant: I dread doing some of the things on my to-do list this weekend.
 
Rant: My HR somehow didn''t get my short term disability claim in, but failed to mention it to me despite 5 weeks passing since Micah''s birth, so I didn''t get paid today. Two bills are due and we are all but broke. Lovely.

Rave: At least I had a gift card to buy formula last night so my baby won''t starve even if I do. And off to grandma''s house we go, YAY!
 
MP~ yowza. that sucks.


Rant~ Our basement flooded with rain water and potty water that flushed back up the sewer pipes. (read: not all MY potty water) All baby stuff is trashed in addition to many many books, clothes, furniture, accessories.

Rave~ I get to buy a new crib, dresser, and chair this weekend for the nursery.
 
Rant: Our housewarming party is tomorrow afternoon, my house is still a mess, and so many people didn''t bother to RSVP so I have no idea if we got enough food and beverages.

Rave: We''re finally having a housewarming party

Rant: FIL is still in ICU and quite frankly I am suuuper tired of no sleep, a grumpy and scared family and general insaneness.

Rave: I FINISHED my first semester of school! It feels surreal and I am really proud of myself! Also with all the craziness I have realized how lucky I am to have the family I have, my ILs are amazing and I REALLY want to add to our family

Rant: work has been super busy (I''m training 2 new employees) so as a result I have a TON of work to do Monday! A 12 hour day ton of work.

I wish new employees could be hired and magically already know everything.

Rave: my MIL is in town and today she and my husband went to a nursery, bought a ton of gorgeous plants (mostly flowers) and we planted a beautiful garden around the crepe myrtle tree in my back yard! I LOVE IT! I''m going to post pictures in the gardening thread-I don''t have them loaded yet.
