Fairy Gem: 4.5 ct Rainbow Moonstone Cab

Arrived just now! I don’t have a lot of time for photos at the moment, and it’s impossible to capture how beautiful it is. By far my favorite gem. Honest opinions, please!

I don't know much about buying, setting or wearing moonstones (I'd be afraid to scratch them), but I find your moonstone beautiful and deserving to be treasured. Congrats on your purchase. How are you planning to wear this moonstone?

I believe this is a moonstone moonstone, not one of the feldspar “moonstones.” I paid just under $200 including shipping. Does that seem like a fair price? It was difficult for me to find pricing info on quality moonstone.

I remember @Burmesedaze or someone else had mentioned that quality moonstone 5 cts or so would cost around $50/ct. I think you got a good price for it.
