Hello all...i just bought this rock from a vendor in boston. does $7800 seem like a fair price for this diamond? It was the first place i went to...and the lady selling seemed so nice. did i just get suckered? or is this fair price like she assured me?

GIA Cert:

Meas: 6.03 x 5.93 x 4.25 mm
Weight: 1.20 carat
Depth: 71.7%
Table: 73%
Culet: None
Girdle: Extremely Thin to Thick
Polish Very Good
Symetry: Good
Clarity: VVS1
Color: F
Fluorescence: None

Thanks,

Dan in Boston

I would be concerned with the girdle. Extremely thin to thick may pose a problem in a princess cut. What you need in a girdle in a princess cut is a medium to thick girdle as chipping may occur with an extremly thin girdle. Just my 0.2.

i have 14 days to return the diamond if i''m not satisfied. is this something worth returning the ring for. in general did i get good value for the rock in particular?

sorry if i''m asking all the wrong questions...i''m a diamond noob.

Hopefully the princess cut experts will chime in and help you out. I just know that extremely thin girdles in princess cuts raise a red flag, IMHO.

hey bostondan05, welcome to ps!
you can do a search for comparable diamonds using the ''pricescope your diamond'' button at the top of the page to get an idea of pricing.
