Faint Brown K 1.5ct

I used to own this ring years ago. It’s a faint brown K as well.
The setting for sure accented the color - and as you can see it was a shifter depending on lighting. I cannot remember if it had any fluorescence tho. The range of browns in faint Ks can swing for what it may do after set.
Yours with strong fluorescence will be interesting! Please post when you get it!

Beautiful! Yes it’s Strong Blue which I’ve been warned may cause negative effects, however to me (the naive eye) it still looks beautiful. And yes I will certainly post a picture!
As far as ranges of Faint Brown where do you think this diamond lies ?
 
Rose gold would be great. I bought an M colored diamond for my daughter, with faint brown. I had it set in rose gold, and while I don't have a picture, it's beautiful.

Was thinking of replacing it with this diamond. Thoughts ? The bow tie looks really prominent but so does my original diamond in video but in person it’s not really noticeable. Was wanting to set either one in rose gold as solitaire.
 
have you reached out to Diamonds By Lauren to see what they have to offer? Their colored diamonds are gorgeous and I believe they could find a stunning one for you

That’s my favorite warm color! I prefer faint brown instead of yellow..I have an M. I put mine in a white gold setting..It really shows up white. Mine is a stacking ring .40 ct..so it may make a difference being larger. I can’t give you an opinion on rose gold because I don’t care for it..I think it will be beautiful no matter what you choose to set it in! I hope you post pics because I’m planning on also buying a larger
faint brown diamond.

No but I have been looking at her website. If neither of these pan out I certainly will. Her diamonds are beautiful

Pretty.
It being outside, with strong fluorescence, would that be relevant to you saying it didn't show much warmth?
Or you meaning that to be under all lighting?

Perhaps because I’m a newbie, I was just expecting more brown? This stone is cut better and it throws beautiful big flashes of light ...perhaps once I have it in a setting I will be able to see the warmth
 
Yeah- they are shifty from the ones I have had. The n will be shifty as well. More brown of course than the k. But what you won’t know without seeing the two in person, is how linear they are to one another and their color grading - and also the “flavor” of brown tint.
Shipping /return fees = real hard personal eyeball education!
 
I think even once you have it set the color you see will change depending on the lighting conditions, that's part of the fun =) if you want the color to be more apparent, one option would be a dainty white halo if you like that look.
 
Hmm, I like the stone, but it seems not quite brown enough (for me, at least).

Yes from the James Allen Link I was expecting to see more of a brown tone too. What’s your thoughts on the above 2ct N ?

I'm not an oval expert, but I like it. I would reach out to diamonds by lauren instead, since their photos and descriptions are amazing and David is a great guy who can actually look at stones for you (not a drop shipper like JA).
 
I'm not surprised that a K faint brown looks that white even indoors... it IS a K, after all. Back in the day we used to recommend low color faint browns to people who wanted larger diamonds but had smaller budgets because many thought faint browns looked whiter than those with yellow secondaries.

I agree that Diamonds by Lauren would be good to check out - I'd go to experts with colored diamonds if you want one with a tint. They look to have a couple of Y/Z faint browns, and if you want more of the look in the JA video, the lower end of the alphabet is where you should be looking, imo.
 
A K diamond generally will not show a whole lot of color. If you use a bezel setting like the gorgeous ring above, it'll help deepen the color, but just rose gold by itself may actually get the stone to show less color (that's more of an optical illusion than anything else, to be fair).

Yes, a K really doesn't have that much color. I recently bought a K marquise cut, faint brown, but I'm exchanging it. Fancies show color more and it still was not a "brown" stone to my eye. I think you need to go lower in color.

Here's the stone referenced for me, as well as next to light yellow diamonds.

The stone in the video is the stone I purchased but it doesn’t look like the way it does in video o_O I do have the GIA cert and it’s the same as what they sent me before I purchased it.

Sometimes the "faint brown" modifiers seem to show up a lot more in the lightbox white-on-white-on-white videos... the setups are optimized for yellow tint so I can see how other tints would show up more, especially when looking at rows and rows of diamonds with yellow tint. I would go more by the color grade than the video for determining how white it really will be.
 
Magnified diamond videos tend to exaggerate colour. I find this annoying to say the least ,(
