Hi Everyone!

I learned all about Signed Pieces and the Facets Duo from lurking on this board, so I''m convinced! I wanted some opinions from all of you about how this setting will look compared to another.

The diamond that we got is around one ct - it''s .90ct F color, VS1, Excellent Cut. I want the stone to really stand out, but I''m also afraid that the band will be too thin on my finger? My ring size is 6.5

Okay, so the first option (the one that I''m leaning towards) is the Facets Duo THE FACETS DUO Diamond Ring Mounting Set, Platinum 53 Round Brilliant Diamonds, 1.90ct. tw. F-G color VVS-VS clarity

The e-ring band is 2.5mm wide and 1.9mm thick and the wedding band is 2.5mm wide and 1.9mm thick. I tried on a 2.5mm band at a local store but it''s hard to gauge exactly how it would look with the double bands and with the stone mounted. What do you all think of that? Too thin, just right?

The second option is: THE FACETS DUO Diamond Ring Mounting Set, Platinum 13 Round Cut Diamonds, 1.31ct. tw. F-G color VVS-VS clarity

This e-ring band is 3mm wide and 2.2mm thick and the same applies to the wedding band. So total this band would be 6mm wide...and the stone is a .90ct which I think is around 6.4mm?

I want the stone to really stand out...but I don''t want the ring to look too small or thin on my hand.

What does everyone think would look best? I would really love all of your opinions! Thanks so much!! :)

here is the second option for the setting...sorry, can''t figure out how to use HTML to put pictures in. :)

well, it''s not exactly apples to apples, but I have a .90ct EC and the band on my ering and my wedding band are both about 3mm, and I don''t find it to be too thin or too thick of a shank. It''s rather a perfect width, if you ask me.

I''d go with the first option (2.5 mm band). Thinner bands will make your diamond pop more. 5mm total is definitely not going to look too thin.

For some comparison, here are some pics of my rings. I wear a 6.5 as well. I have the Facets Duo 13 stone set. The bands were adverstised a 3 mm, however, much to my delight when I received them they were closeer to 2.75 mm. My center stone is 1.73 cts. With that being said, I would go with the first option, as in MHO, if you go with the 13 stone set, it will drown out your center stone!

BTW, I abolutely adore my Facets set. The quality is great and the appraiser rated all my stones as Ideal Cut, VVS F-G.

Wow! Your ring set is BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for the advice....I think I just might go with the first set. :)

I just didn''t want to have a band of diamonds that looked like nothing from any sort of distance. I just can''t visualize how thin those will look or anything. I can''t find anything like it in my area to compare.

Again your ring is fantastic!!! :)

Thanks! Yeah, I was pretty nervous about it until I actually received it!!! I think the first set will look just fine with your stone!

I asked for photoshop help here when I was waiting for my rings. I provided the stock photo from Facets with the dimensions of the band as well as stones (ie, 10 pointers in a 3 mm wide band) and the dimension of the center stone, and someone was nice enough to mock up what my ring would look like! Perhaps you should do the same to set your mind at ease!!!

Also, the Facets setting are made with the head pretty low. I could not see the culet of my center stone once it was set, so I sent it back to Signed Pieces to have a new head put on it that would bring the stone up some. It''s still not as high as I would have liked, but I am learning to like it the way it is. If that is something you''re interested in, I would tell them upfront so it will be right the first time...
