So a couple weeks ago I began my hunt for a ~1ct stone. I ended up with two slightly smaller ones (.88/.91) on reserve w/ GOG... and then after ring shopping w/ my girlfriend, realized that something between 1.0 & 1.1ct would likely be a better way to go.
First, GOG refunded my reserve money, no questions asked. No hassle.
Second, Jonathan made plenty of time to bounce questions/answers back & forth via email... always letting me know he was "on standby" when I was ready. No pressure whatsoever (which I very much respect/appreciate).
Third, I narrowed some options down to four stones they had in stock that were close to my budget... a 1.06 J/SI1, a 1.06 F/SI2, a 1.09 I/SI1, and a 1.17 J/SI1. The first was actually the one I was leaning towards, partially b/c of budget, partially b/c it has medium flouro. That being said, I was certainly willing to stretch my budget for a better stone, so Jon and I chatted about that... and then he offered to shoot a comparison video for me. I was curious about color & size differences, in addition to the inclusion on the F/SI2.
So he did. He pulled all four and put 'em side-by-side. Talk about helpful when purchasing online! Check it: http://www.goodoldgold.com/videos/HA106109117.wmv
I ended up reserving the 1.06 J/SI1 (link: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4534/). All four diamonds are amazing to my eyes. The F/SI2 was my 2nd choice, but I'm very pleased w/ the color of the J, plus I dig the fact that the J has flour. Ultimately I saved over five hundred bones that I'll put towards the budget for a wedding band... woohoo!
Point: these guys deserve your business. They rock.
