I found a good F colored stone at BN, but the setting I want is prefab with H colored sidestones. BN said they currently do not have the ability to put F or G sidestones in it. Of course, they told me that H is close enough to F and it would look fine, but I''ve always heard that you should keep it the same or one color level difference. I''m inclined to take the risk and buy it still, because the sidestones are quite small (0.14 each) and might serve to make the center look better, which is my whole theme.

RB 1.16c F VS2 med blue fluor
platinum 3stone setting with 4prongs, sidestones are 0.28tcw H SI-1

Ironically, if I try to buy a similar quality G colored center diamond on BN, it costs more than the F (probably becuz of the fluor)

Can you post a pic of the setting?

An F should be okay with H sidesones, but I wouldn''t go lower than that. I think keeping it within 2 color grades is fine.

Hi Ogg, I have a ring from BN with an F center stone and H color side stones. You can''t notice any difference in color at all, but that could be because the side stones are small (5 pointers I think). It might be more noticeable if it was a 3 stone ring or something with larger side stones. Which setting are you considering? Here are some photos, maybe they will be helpful.

To me, the smaller the stone, the whiter/brighter it appears ... so I''d guess that would help your H side stones "match" the F center.

Here''s a pic
