Hi!

My first time posting so forgive me if I don't use terminology correctly. My fiance bought me a J colored 1.74c SI Triple X GIA certified engagement ring. I'm concerned now about two things. I've seen the diamond and it didnt look yellow to me, but I have inexperienced eyes. The big thing though that worries me is that SI should be "eye clean". I know this means different things to different people. I was able to see the inclusion from the side of the diamond pretty clearly without a loupe. I didn't notice it face up. Is this a deal breaker? The ring is being sized now so its not too late to back off. Thank you.

Eye clean should mean exactly that. There are allowances for inclusions to be seen from the pavilion side. For SI 1 it should be difficult to see from the pavilion side. For SI 2 a little easier. Be as it may, no inclusion should be visible from the crown. All the best with whatever you choose.

Eye clean should be eye clean, but bigger stones show inclusions much easier.
