If you were to buy a diamond everything else being equal would you pick a 34/41 or a (34.7), 34.8/40.8 crown and pavillion angle diamond?

and Why would you pick one over the other?

Neither. I''d pick the stone that looked the best in real life, with my real life eyes.

I would choose this one. Probably even like a 35.6/40.6 (pulling # out of my behind but you get my idea lol)

Just the other day, one of our dealers asked us to re-cut a stone for him as a favour. We did this but could not stay above 1Ct, using the normal Infinity-proportions.

As a concession, we cut it with 40.9 pavilion and 33.9 crown, staying above 1 Ct in that way. However, we made it very clear to the dealer that this is not fully Infinity-quality, and should not be represented as such. Of course, the stone will not carry our laser-inscription either.

Live long,

Would 34.8/40.8 meet Infinity Standards to receive your laser inscription?

Live long,
I have a question - is "infinity standards" a sort of brand standard? I know its your brand and I''m having trouble explaining myself... there are a lot of different combinations that can make a *beautiful* diamond and I''m sure... or maybe I''m asking if some of those fall outside "infinity" diamond... okay what am I asking... I want to know if "infinity standards" encompasses everything that you think is beautiful or if you''ve narrowed the parameters for the sake of branding?

These standards are indeed brand standards, and actually entirely personal. They are based upon experience and research, in which the aim of the brand is to produce diamonds with the absolutely highest light performance, in the sense that in any lighting environment, they show great brilliance, fire and scintillation (of course dependant on the possibility of the lighting environment making this effect possible).

As such, it is our personal definition of the most beautiful in that particular shape.

I hope that this answers your question.

I know what "it" means, but I have no idea what Ira means, I didn''t see the movie.

But I have been sitting on my hands through this thread. Can anyone guess what that means?

Hehehehe. That''s all. I don''t know enough about diamond proportions to say anything useful. That was just a greatly timed quote.
