still deciding on an asscher...

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4288/

this one is a little different ... definitely has broader steps

but i can''t ignore the price tag or the ideal grades on brightness, fire, and scan. according to OGI Fire Trace

L/W is equal to that of a 1.00+ ct

depth is lower, but again, OGI gives it a thumbs up on B, F, S

what do you think?

especially vs http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3693/

and http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3692/

and finally, http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4169/

thanks again!

any other recommended asschers would be appreciated!

The ogi firetrace is absolutly useless.
The scanner most of the time cant track an asscher properly.
Even if it could the ratings are junk.

That said its a kicken asscher.

The second is borderline kicken

The third is a solid kicken

The forth is one step down from kicken, there is too much blue in the ASET and not enough red.

strm -- thanks for the reply

let me ask you a couple more questions...

is there any advantage of of picking http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3692/ over http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4288/?

seeing how 4288 is $1200 cheaper, i''m looking for reasons why the more expensive asscher is the better diamond.

how useful is the gem advisor tool? i''ve noticed that many of the asschers on gog don''t do well on light return according to gem advisor.

thanks!

I''m guessing the "advantage" of the former, and the majority of the reason for the price difference, it that it''s over 1 ct and the other isn''t. Most of that weight is in increased depth, so the smaller one actually has a greater spread. I don''t think I''d spend the extra money.

I dont think I would either.
Cut wise they are variations on a theme and both kicken.

I do not take price nor magic numbers into account when grading them but spread is taken into account only when the cut quality is there.
If the number is important and the price depends on the person buying it.
Add it all up and the .90 is a winner in my book.

I''d take his advice, he helped me pick out my .91 from GOG. It''s a gorgeous asscher. Good luck!!
