Hoping someone will weigh in and help me - I've learned a tremendous amount on this site (as least relative to what I knew before) - but still a little unsure of what I'm looking at.

This stone is just over 2 carats, H, SI1 (100% eyeclean), excellent cut. HCA is 1.3.

Thoughts on this diamond? To me, looks decent in terms of light leakage?

Thank in advance for any comments!! :)

Hi QoD,

Firstly, if you could post all the proportions you have from the diamond please, that will be helpful for the sake of completeness, I take it this diamond is GIA or AGS graded also? Is this diamond intended for a ring?

The images look excellent, no discernible light leakage to speak of, it should be a beautiful stone. The optical symmetry isn't quite perfect ( the arrow patterning), but unless you want a flawlessly cut hearts and arrows diamond, this should not be an issue and is certainly something you won't notice with the naked eye.

When you say you have checked the diamond is eye clean, just make sure you have discussed this with an expert with the stone in hand so you are both on the same page. The industry definition of an eye clean diamond is something like this - no visible inclusions face up in normal lighting with normal vision. So make sure this big diamond fits your criteria that you won't see any bothersome inclusions from any angle or distance, especially check the inclusions seen on image, they might not be visible but double check to avoid disappointment as above.

All in all it's a thumbs up from me if the eye clean factor does check out!

Hi OP, I'm not an expert but I find if I post my novice comments an expert will come in and correct me pretty fast, lol. OOOh, diamond wise ones, come enlighten us noobs :-)

So, to answer your question about leakage from the ASET: the aset looks good to me with minimal leakage. And overall, looks like it could be a nice performing diamond. But, I DO see something a little amiss on the stars, they aren't all the same on the aset and IS and there's the green blob at the 4 o'clock position (and irregularities at 830, 10, 1 and 2 positions). Maybe someone can decipher if those are something you should consider. Those facets aren't working in harmony as well as the other ones, and may be visible.

Good luck in your search. Nice size, lucky you!

ETA Good Morning, Lorelei!!

'mornin' Luvda.

Slight deviations in facet angles due to minor details of polish Luvda, shouldn't be an issue to the naked eye - good eye you though!

Oh, thanks, Lorelei...learning something new every day :read: :wavey:

Thanks so much to you both - can't tell you how helpful your comments are!!

Not sure if needed still, but in case this is helpful:
GIA triple excellent
Pavilion angle 41.0%
Crown 34.0%
Depth 61.5%
Table 56%

I have been told this is a "good SI1", and the inclusions can't be seen at even 12" away (although they define eye clean as 18" in normal lighting, as one of you mentioned). The last picture I included above is magnified at roughly 20x. Does this answer the eye clean question or do I need to clarify further??

And forgot to add - was told the "green blob" is nothing to worry about. It's caused by the lighting used to photograph the diamond...
