Please tell me which x-factor (if any) you would pick and which one (if any) I should not consider. Thank you in advance for your help.

Note: The link below will take you to a comparison chart and you can view ideal scope and aset for each one as well.

All the ASET and IS pictures show very gorgeous stones. My pick falls to the first one.

Reasons:
1. G SI1 is the best bang for the buck, still very white and eye clean.
2. smallest table and least depth = stone faces up very large.
3. I like the VG polish and symmetry

Cons
I am leery about the extremely thin girdle. As I am not very familiar with X-factors, ask WF where is the Ex-Thin part. It seems like this is normal for this type of cut. I''d prefer the Thin girdle but don''t like the stats of the other 3 as much.

Chrono,

Thanks so much for your reply. I actually asked about the Ex thin girdle, and was just told not to worry about it, that since WF is setting it, it won''t be a problem...at the same time, I have read that Ex thin and ex thick girdles are something to stay away from. I will ask where it is and see what I am told.

I just recommended for you to check out X-factors before seeing this thread! Guess you''re one step ahead already.

My 2 cents worth...
1) I''ve been told that one should stay away from extremely thin girdles. The extremely thick part is no problem as it''s an inevitable part of the X-factor cutting process. Think of it as shaving the top off of a pyramid...you end up with a thicker top part, which is the girdle at the corners of the stone.
2) All of these color/clarity combinations are nice.
3) I don''t like the ASET on the 2nd one at all.
4) I don''t like the way the center looks on the first one.

So if you have the budget, I''d probably go with either of the last two. Looking at the pictures, the 3rd one looks the most beautiful to me, and it also has nicely square dimensions. On the other hand, it also has a bigger table and depth than the fourth, so it''s a toss-up.

I''d also consider checking this one out if it''s eye-clean (looks to be so from the photos):
http://www.whiteflash.com/xfactor/X-Factor-cut-diamond-168641.htm The big cons to this one are its large depth and L:W ratio that isn''t as close to square as some of the others...but the excellent symmetry and very good polish are nice draws. And I think this looks better in the picture than any of the others.
