I know there are other threads about antiqueengagementrings.com but I wanted new info

Here is my story...

At the moment I''m a smidge frustrated because I haven''t had the best customer service. I emailed them on Friday 8/15/08 inquiring about a ring and stated that my BF and I are/were very anxious/excited to find out about it. They emailed me back the very next day which I was VERY excited about. They stated that they were out of town until Tuesday but they would email me the specs as soon as possible. On Tuesday I had no email from them (I''m 3 hours behind them) so I sent a friendly reminder stating I would love the specs etc. I got an email back saying that they would be back in the office at 3 PM and would send it to me then. I heard nothing from them after that, So I emailed on Wednesday... still nothing! I then emailed on Thursday. It is now Friday and I have heard NOTHING from them!!!

I know I might be a little paranoid but I just really want to know the specs of this ring! My BF and I have both fallen in love with it and my BF is set to buy it.. but now after this customer service its making me doubt wanting to work with them... Also if someone says they''ll get back to me by a certain day with the info then that is what I expect... is that a little unreasonable???

ANYWAY, thank you for letting me vent and after all of that... do people have negative or positive experiences to share with this company???

Thank you for any input!

I can''t speak to this particular vendor, but many places that sell antique jewelry seem to be not-so-email-friendly. When I was ring shopping I emailed a LOT of places selling antique stones, and I think only SingleStone replied with anything helpful. Several completely ignored email, several replied with "don''t email- call." So I never email vendors with questions anymore, I just call them. That''s what I''d do in your situation. Yeah, it''s a bit annoying, but it is definitely similar to what I experienced. When I gave up on the emailing of questions, I had much better luck getting help and questions answered over the phone- people are better at returning calls I guess. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice LittleGreyKitten... I''ve decided to give up on this site as I still have not heard back from them and it''s been over a week

It wasn''t an antique site, but the website I ordered from before I found pricescope never got back to my emails either. I called them and they said they are very backed up on emails and the best way to get ahold of them is to just call them. The site I ALMOST ordered from did the same thing.

Hi sred,

I''m not up on antiques too much, but this company has helped several posters on here, and they all seem very happy. Maybe they have something you''d like?

Thanks for the suggestion Ellen. I looked at this site but since they don''t have pricing I haven''t spent as much time on the site as I don''t want to fall in love with a ring that is WAY over my price range

Do you know if they are quick to respond to pricing questions?

Thanks!

I can''t say, but if you type their name in the search box, I know you should get several threads where they are talked about. You might find your answer in there, or, just call and find out!

And you''re welcome!

After everything I found out last night that my boyfriend called this company during the day and talked to them a couple of times. They thought my emails got lost in their email filter.. I don''t know about that... but oh well. He said they were nice but I''m skeptical now. In any case we''re going to look at places in the area

Singlestone took about a week to respond to my original question but once we got the conversation flowing they responded pretty quickly, usually within 2 business days. I did have to remind them twice that they missed one of my questions and could they please answer it.

I didn't buy from Singlestone but not because of their service. Their prices were just out of reach for me.

They might still be worth a shot if you aren't sure about AER.

Single Stone responded to my email inquiry right away. I live near their L.A. Showroom, made an appointment and looked at their items. The rings are GORGEOUS, though a bit pricey. I was looking for a loose stone and gave them my parameters and budget. They showed me a couple but none of the stones were quite what I was looking for so I didn''t buy from them. However, they could not have been nicer.

I''ve had a few quotes from Singlestone. They were very responsive IMO. Unfortunately they are at the high, high end of pricing. The two settings I requested pricing on were both over $6K. I don''t think they have many (if any at all) settings under $3500. Lovely, impeccable work but quite pricey. I know Maytal Hannah is not as expensive in the LA area. If you are interested in a vintage look, you might check out Beverly K rings.
