Exhausted....

Tell them is a G color. ;))They couldn't tell the difference from G-I ...
This ^^^ don’t lie to your fiancée regarding the stats but no one else ever needs to know! If it’s beautifully cut they’ll notice the sparkle well before they notice any colour (and I isn’t yellow at all)

VERY nice. what a great find by @Snowdrop13 !!!! I don't think you can get much better than this considering the price!
This is a great option. I think this IDJ 1.7 H/VS2 is the stone to beat.

With that as the baseline, I'd see if IDJ can obtain any of the following and match the price all pulled from posting above.
1.75 H VS1

1.83 H VS1

***more from above are bigger but this post interrupted by kiddo. Back later**

@the_mother_thing I agree! I had tons of fun in the beginning but now.....:eek2:

I had set the following criteria:
- Budget $15k (stone & setting) -- flexible here (+1k) if the perfect stone came around
- Round
- 1.5+/H/VS1/No Flour -- willing to go down to VS2 but seems like most of the time its because the darn crystal is right in the center on VS2s
- We discussed the setting and she had a preference for a solitaire/pave diamonds on the band/cathedral setting.

So much talk about the diamond, but I'm excited about the setting! Two important questions: 4 or 6 prong, and does the wedding band have to sit flush? Does she like more modern, simple designs, or intricate, vintage?

You all seriously ROCK!! (no pun intended :Up_to_something2:)... I agree with @rockysalamander the 1.7 H/VS2 is the one to beat. Its seriously at a great price..Here is where I'm at so far:

Stone: https://idjewelry.com/round-idd00756.html
Setting: https://idjewelry.com/14k-white-gol...ection-engagement-ring-setting-1507-iejd.html (in platinum!)

While I would absolutely love a super ideal I don't think I'll be able to score a 1.7/H/VS2 in my $15-16k price range. Learning about super ideals has been the true curve ball that I wasn't expecting. Although I am completely enamored with getting one for the engagement ring knowing that she will cherish it forever it just won't fit in my price range while being mind clean. I'm fine at this point knowing I'll still be able to get a good diamond showing decent H&A.

I think this is going to be awesome. Put that stone on hold!

Nice choice on the setting  Can't wait to see it finished.

@starrysim I love the setting.. just wish the band was a tadddd bit thicker.

Anyone know if I should be concerned about the number of feathers this report is showing. Alot of them are reaching the girdle as well. The GIA report can be found here:

https://idjewelry.com/round-idd00756.html

The "big" feathers are off to the side, not under the table, and only small ones on the girdle. You won't be able to see the girdle ones without a loupe or maybe not - pretty sure you won't even see the "big" ones with your naked eye. Because of where they're placed, the light shooting out of the stone will prevent you from focusing on those areas. And with a VS stone, "big" means not big at all. Ask yekutiel or shalumet if you're really concerned.

It's a beautiful stone!

The 1.7 H from IDJ is beautiful and at a fantastic price for the color (contrary to a few other recommendations, I would not drop below H in a stone this size). I wouldn't even worry about SuperIdeals at this point. This IDJ stone is not perfect, but then again there are SuperIdeals out there that aren't perfect either, and I don't think there's any severe defects in this stone that would differentiate it from a SuperIdeal in everyday performance.

Show this stone and a 1.5 carat SuperIdeal to the average person and ask them to tell you what is different, and they'll simply point to the 1.7 and say "That stone is larger." :)

And as @ringo865 said, those feathers are nothing to worry about. Pretty sure all of the respected trade members on this board have all said at one time or another that feathers in VS-clarity diamonds from a reputable lab are practically never a durability issue.
