A week or two ago I discovered ExericseTV and it has made a WORLD of difference in my exercise routine. Basically, they have free videos on their website, and you can find them on a few digital cable networks. We have Comcast and they''re a free section in the OnDemand menu. They have a whole bunch of workouts, from cardio to abs to dance to strength training, and I''m in LOVE.

I get really bored easily, so I''m always looking for new ways to convince myself to work out. I end up spending more time looking at workouts than actually DOING them. Now, I get up in the morning, turn on the tv, flip through the menu to find a workout that sounds interesting, and hit play. No excuses, and for the most part I''ve really enjoyed everything I''ve tried. If it''s crappy, I stop it and pick a new one. No dvds to buy (you''re already paying the cable bill...might as well make it your gym membership, too), and since they seem to rotate the content there''s always something new.

I have Comcast...I''ll have to check this out tonight after work--thanks!

Monarch, I don''t know what your workout preferences are, but I did the Turbo Sculpt workout this morning for the 2nd time and it''s great. I found it under the cardio section. All strength training moves, but the pace is enough to get your heart rate up too. Her focus is total body, but MAN does she zero in on your butt.

Hmmm, I wonder if that's on regular DirecTV programming....

ETA: I couldn't find it, though I did see there's a channel called FitTV.

I just checked on the ExerciseTV website, and it looks like they''re only on Comcast, Cox, Time Warner, and Bresnan. You have to have On Demand service (usually comes automatically with digital cable).

There are quite a few videos on their website, however, which is worth checking out. The link is in my first post above.

Whoo, I have it! I''m watching bellydance cardio right now, it''s an 11 minute workout and looks fun! There are a ton of things to choose from, thanks for bringing this up, ladyciel!

FG, I have FitTV as well, there are a lot of good shows on there as well as fitness/diet tips in general, I watch it sometimes to get inspired to work out. It''s not quite as convenient as the on demand thing, but if you have Tivo or DVR you could find some programs you like and record them!

OMG!!!! i just discovered this and i''ve been using it for 2 weeks now....no more excuses as to not exercising...its great--the dance one is fun.

Thanks for mentioning this! We just got Direct TV and I''m still figuring it out. I saw something about Exercise TV but didn''t really get where/what it is. I''ll have to look around and find it tonight b/c I NEED to workout this evening!
Thanks!

I did the bellydance cardio and the booty beat today, loved them! I can''t wait to do all the other fun ones, I''m so inspired to work out again!

hehe, I haven''t tried either of those yet, Monarch. I think I''ll have to wait until my BF isn''t home so I don''t have to feel like I''m putting on a show...

. they got tae-bo...maybe next week for the butt kicking.

Yeah, I think if I did the booty beat one and DH happened to be around, my workout would take on a whole different direction, LOL!
