So FF and I are thinking about getting the Tiffany Legacy replica from exceldiamonds.com without the graduated side stones, but I''m wondering if anyone here has gotten a custom setting like that from them, or maybe even that exact one? I know it probably won''t look exactly like the Tiffany version but I am hoping that it will still be delicate and beautiful and not look overdone or bulky. I''m also curious about the pictures of it posted on their site. One is obviously the actually Tiffany ring from Tiffany.com and I''m just wondering how accurate the rest of the photos are in comparison to what I''d actually be getting. So thanks in advance!

Here''s the link to the one we''re considering: http://www.exceldiamonds.com/-Engagement-Rings-5/Tiffany-Style-Legacy-Engagement-Ring-With-Mill-Grain-Edge-1544.html#

PearlDahhhling -- DEFINITELY also meet with Mark T. from Engagement Rings Direct! He''s in the NYC diamond district as well. And may I say... he is AWESOME? I saw his Tiffany Legacy design in person and it was TO DIE FOR. Every detail was fine, it was truly a work of art. It was GOR-GEE-OOOOUUS. So delicate, so fine...and yet it was breathtaking. I saw one with a .93 carat diamond and it totally held its own against my 2.73 solitaire. Incredible. He is a PS vendor and comes with nothing but glowing reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also they custom make the setting with stones that are proportional to your center diamond. So you won''t get the halo effect overpowering the stone ever. No alien spaceship halo stock settings there. It subtly enhances it so that you get a POW effect. Very affordable, too!

Thanks for the reply Bliss!

Unfortunately I can''t meet with Mark or anyone over in the Diamond District because I live in California... (Which is a total bummer because I would LOVE to see all of their amazing work in person!) But I did send Mark an email letting him know what I''m looking for and what our budget is so hopefully I''ll hear back from him this week. But budget is our main concern. The one at exceldiamonds.com is pretty much what we''re looking to spend and I''m just afraid that ERD will end up being too expensive. But I did email him, so I''m hoping something works out because his work is lovely!

PearlDahhhling I could be wrong but I think the whole NY diamond district is on holidays till the 14th of July.

Is excel able to send you a sample setting to try on?

Oh how very right you are! I just received a default email from ERD saying they''re out of the office until the 15th. SAD!

I''ll email them again once they are back from vacation and see if they would be able to send me a sample setting to try. That sounds like a good idea! Thanks!

Oh! PearlDahhhling, it looks like you''re going to have to wait! Don''t worry, when I was shopping around -- ERD was very competitive in terms of pricing. And you can tweak some things, too since it''s custom. I can''t say enough great things about ERD!!!!!!

I''m also looking at legacy style settings (for a sapphire), and I am really interested in the vatche princess grace. Search for angeleyez (a PSer) and you can see her awesome pics of her ring. I have not seen the setting in person, but maybe someone near you carries it and you can try it on and see what you think. I thin it is priced just a touch more than the excel replica, with the advantage being that you can (hopefully) easily try it on before you buy it. The main difference I see is that it is prong set instead of bezel. Vatche makes a very high quality product. excel diamonds carries vatche as well, so perhaps they can help you see the differences between their replica, the vatche, and the original tiffany. good luck, can''t wait to see your ring!!

I was extremely pleased with Excell!!!! They gave a great replica of the tiffany setting that I wanted. There are a couple of vendors that do great replicas and they are one of the best!!!

If I bought a diamond from another PS vendor, can I send it to Excel and have them set the ring for me?

I just got my Tiffany Legacy copy from Mart at ERD. It is truly the work of art. Very delicate and classy, and it looked much more delicate than the original Tiffany. His custom work is excellent, and I am extremely pleased with the results.

Yes, but I think the better way to do it is to have excel send the setting to the vendor you bought the stone from and have them set the stone. You really want your stone to be covered during the setting process rather than the setting. It''s rare that settings are damaged beyong repair during the setting process, especially from a good vendor that knows what they are doing. It would be worse to have the stone chipped and not have it covered.

Sparxs111, did you actually get a Tiffany replica from them? If so, which one?
