Hi there! I am a newbie and like so many others I have fallen in love with the Tiffany Novo. It was my boyfriend''s idea to visit Tiffany and go straight for the case that held the Novos so I could try them on, and each time we have gone I have fallen more and more in love with the ring (what a tease!).

My boyfriend has made it clear that he wants to propose but since it has been a tough year in real estate, my $15,000 ring is out of the question. He knows how much I love the style of the Novo and won''t settle for anything else. I could care less about having a "Tiffany" and was thrilled to find that Barry at "Excel Diamonds" carried a replica. Many other Novo look-a-likes just weren''t close enough, and I have heard Barry has a great reputation. Has anyone seen his Novo replica and if so, how close is it?

Unfortunately, I have not seen it. The Novo is the square H&A, right? If so, GOG also carries them at www.goodoldgold.com under square H&A. I have seen them and they are very sparkly. The arrow alignment is also the same as the Tiffany stone.

I''m doing the very same thing you suggest -- and Chrono is right about Good Old Gold''s diamond. In fact, I just received a 1.2 ct I VVS1 Square Hearts & Arrows diamond from GOG (it''s freakin'' beautiful, BTW!) but their Novo knock-off didn''t "wow" me. Excel''s ring, on the other hand, looks to be the closest replica of Tiffany''s design so I''m going with that. I am mailing the rock off to Excel for setting in 14 ct white gold right after it gets appraised tomorrow. I can post pics of the final product if you like.

I was actually in NYC and met with Barry and Judah the other day to look at wedding bands for my FI... I saw the Novo rep in person... Its pretty damn good. Haven''t seen anything close to as far as reps go...

My FI has the Excel Tiffany 6 porng replica, and its dead-on, excellent quality.
