Thanks for the pic but I really don’t want rounds. If I go forward with cushions they’ll be modern cushions - I see no reason non crushed ice modern cushions wouldn’t match a native cut sapphire.

Yes in another comment I said I was leaning cushions because of a list of reasons.

I’m not the most delicate in my opinions either. But don’t worry it’s not going to look like ears.

I don’t want anything that’s fatter than it is long Becuase were limited to finger space im willing to use as I don’t want it to total more than 21mm prior to any sort of angling in the setting

I have half moons on an oval center in one of my Beaudry settings, but I wouldn't choose those for sides if I were going custom. Your cushion is fairly rounded. I might go with little bezeled rounds even. I think you'll have difficulty matching diamond cushions that are similar in shape to your center stone.

The color is a perfect yellow as is- it does not need a cup and I don’t need to worry about how to clean one! Lol

Hi, Niel! Your stone is spectacular! It's in a gorgeous setting now, but I think your ideas for how to reset it are going to make it even more beautiful!
I voted for half-moons because of the dimensions of your stone and how the existing ring looks on your hand. I think you can put a pair of nice-sized half moons next to your stone and it will look well-balanced and show your stone off to the max, whereas I don't see much space for rounder shaped cushions to flank your stone on your finger unless you angle and tuck them under the center stone.

Your sapphire is so grand and elegant! If you had a smaller center, then I could see going with cushions but the size and shape of your sapphire will look very much like your inspiration photo, which I think will be stunning! I think you can put yellow gold prongs around your sapphire and it would be perfect!
Anything you decide to do will be lovely! You have great taste!
I can't wait to see the results when you're done!

I was thinking if I could get diamonds no wider than 4.2mm it would be under 20mm without angling and that does seem like a size I would like.
