no special plans?

My father is no longer here with me...

No special plan - just a personal way to thank him from within...

I made brunch for my dad, DH''s dad, and DH''s brother. Second year in a row. I think we''re locked in forever now.

Happy father''s day, DFire! What did YOU do today?

My dh and I host Father''s Day every year for my family and have been doing this for the last 10 years.
This year we did it yesterday as traveling is easier for everyone when it is not on the actual day. The guest list included my sister and her husband and my nieces, my aunt and uncle and my mom and dad.

My dh cooked a wonderful meal and baked too. He is a great chef. It was a lovely day. We also bought my dad 2 books on Galileo (he''s a history buff and loves reading all about this stuff). Father''s Day is one of my favorite holidays.

I work today and my parents are in a different city. I did call my dad, and left a message to remind my bro to do it, since he will never remember. They are coming up for my bother''s birthday on Friday, so I will toast dad then and give him his gift.

we went to the cemetery and visited both of our parent''s and grandparent''s grave sites.

My father is dead so my mom and I cleaned out our guest bedroom and looked at some old pictures of him.

My dh-who''s a wonderful father-is hiking in the backcountry with #1 son and inaccessible by phone or otherwise. The two youngest kids and I took my dad and mom to lunch after church.

DF and all the other PS dads, happy Father''s Day to you!

I''m across the country from my Dad at the moment so a card and a phone call had to suffice. That being said my dad is so freaking hard to please... I didn''t send my mom a card on mothers day (I''m really just not a card person, I don''t see the point of spending money to send her a phrase written by someone else.) and he gave me such a hard time! So I made sure to send one to him and that it would arrive on time. First, he opened it on like Thursday - he claims he didn''t realize what it was. So I made a joking comment about how he didn''t even open it on father''s day... his response "oh well it''s just a hallmark holiday anyways". SERIOUSLY!?!?!?! After giving me such a hard time about mothers day... that man. He drives me crazy some days... and the worst part is I have inherited all of his annoying traits haha. Oh fathers.

Happy Father''s Day, DF, and to all the other PS fathers.

For my husband, got him some snack foods he likes and wrapped them in a couple new bandanas since he uses and likes bandanas. Our oldest daughter colored a card off the internet and also drew a picture for him. I also made brownies later that day. He deserves more than that but he is really low maintenance, didn't want anything more than that.

As far as my Dad, as he lives in another city just called him. But he is coming down later this week and I'm treating him to a couple days at the beach. I'll also take him out to eat at some point too.

Happy Father's day to all those fathers out there!

I made hamburgers and potato salad... sounds pretty ordinary huh? But it meant I had to go to one store to buy beef (which I had to take home, trim, and then have my ayi chop by hand... find a bakery that had bun-like bread, go to a store that has lettuce (difficult to find here), and to an outdoor market to get potatoes, red onion, celery, and tomatoes. All of the stores are 45 minutes away so it took me about 4 hours to collect the goods. However, they were some of the best burgers I''ve ever had.

wht did your girls do?

My precious Stepfather passed away in 2007 and I miss him so much. DH and I have 3 furbabies and we gave him a special card and I''ll take him to a yummy dinner on his next day off...he had to work today and got home late. I went to see my Dad and Memaw this afternoon.

It was a nice day.

To those of you who are missing a late father or stepfather, yesterday must have been very poignant. I hope you had some joyful memories.

My father is on a cruise this week, so I didn''t get to talk to him. I''ve left his card and gift in my parents'' house for him to find when he gets home. My two year old gave her daddy a long lie, by sleeping to 9am for about the first time in her life!

Huh, I wasn't sure we even had father's day where I live, but I just checked and obviously it's in December. So it's either a little late or a little too early to celebrate it. Good thing my Dad obviously doesn't know it either.

The best man I ever knew, my dear sweet Daddy, passed away thirty years ago. He lives forever in my heart and mind and through my words, actions and treatment of others. I remember him every day because I miss him so much.

At home it''s just DH, me and our two furbabies. I gave him a card and so did "the girls", which he enjoyed. Then we had a nice dinner last night.

A belated Happy Father''s Day DF. I hope those rib eyes were delicious!

I got my dad his favourite bottle of wine. Then I baked him a few of his favourite desserts, which he never gets to eat because he''s severely lactose intolerant. He got dairy free lemon meringue pie, dairy free chocolate cake, dairy free treacle cake and a big bowl of sorbet. Oh, and yummy homemade sparkling lemonade. He had a great day

We (Ben & I) got my husband a new grill and gift certificate to LobsterGram.

We had my family over yesterday too to have a cookout on the new grill. My Dad got a new tool he''s been wanting from us.

they got me a black Polo shirt with white stripes.

My parents are very simple people, but my dad has done a lot of things for me this year, so I wanted to go all out. He''s in love with the new camaro''s so I rented one for the weekend! He was shocked.

I got My dad a hat he''s been wanting. We had planned to take him to dinner, but unfortunately my father tends to be bitter around holidays, and did his usual pouting bout and we didn''t go. It makes me sad that he does this to my sister and I every single holiday.

My father lives in another state. I sent him a card and a gift and called him on Father''s Day. He was not forgotten.

My Dad passed away four years ago and now I feel
a little sad and I could even say "cheated" on Father''s Day.

I made sure all the fathers I know got cards and I
had a long talk with my Mom who lives on the opposite
coast.
