Ever dipped your jewelry in a different colored gold?

I bought a yellow gold band and thinking of having it dipped in rose gold because this vintage ring is rarely make in rose gold nevermind in my size also....

Has anyone ever done this and is it a good idea?

I rhodium plated a yellow gold ring once. I don't wear yellow gold so it certainly made it more wearable. I'm not sure if a rose gold plate would wear off...?

I've rhodium plated yellow gold. Worked like a charm. Wink did my plating though, and I suspect he put a very thick coating on it because it wore fabulously. No yellow at all.
