What is the best way to evaluate an OMB diamond? Does an Excellent or Very Good cut rating (GIA) mean anything? (Does a Fair or Good cut rating mean the diamond is not worth considering?) is an ASSET better for evaluation purposes than seeing the stone in person? If the OMB is round, is an Idealscope image of any use in evaluating the stone? Thanks for any info you can share with me.

i am a rookie here, but ASSET and idealscope says more than the grade. I went to the B&M store last week and I looked at GIA triple ex, but the stone is not very inspiring. when we look at the ASSET, there is broken arrow (the arrow was not like the other 7 arrows).

photos and videos would be wonderful.

Cut ratings mean nothing, especially if it is a true antique OMB. Older cuts are cut by hand, don't have good symmetry (they're often referred to as "wonky"), and can have light performance of different degrees. They really need to be seen by a trusted vendor, and an ASET is helpful.
