I''m about to have a ring made for me by Brian Gavin. I had originally decided on an A Jaffe style ring with a euro shank, but not sure if I want to go that way or not.

For some of the ladies on here...which do you prefer and why? I''ve tried getting info from girlfriend and she wants to be surprised, so no help there. I''m leaning toward the round, just because I know she is used to that. She doesn''t wear a lot of jewelry, and does work with her hands in an office environment. It will most likely be a solitaire with channel round diamonds on the side.

I have one euroshank and I hate it. My ring still moves a little but the corners drive me nuts. I am thinking about having them rounded out. That is just one opinion though.

I have had both, and honestly for me, as much as my ring didn''t spin, I didn''t like the extra bulk on the squared portion on the bottom shank, it gets in my way with my other finger (and I always felt that I knew something was there constantly - which kind of annoyed me) . I went back to a round back (plus its slightly less costly) because it is smoother - less bulk and if sized right, it won''t spin much imo. In short, no I didn''t really like the euro shank
