I have two eternity wedding bands. Frankly, I don''t care much if they get dirty or smudge. They can be cleaned easily. I got these rings to enjoy, and if I''m always getting my panties in a twist over them, then it''s not going to be much fun wearing them.

I used to be severely OCD about things, but I realized that it really hinders me from enjoying life because I would be constantly worried or annoyed. I''ve let loose a LOT, and this is just example of it.
What she said.

Minus the two eternity bands... lucky girl!

I have a channel set half eternity that I''ve worn for years, and I recently purchased a full eternity. I feel more secure with the half eternity, and the turning has never concerned me. I worry more about getting the full eternity dirty and chipping the underside, but it is a very pretty ring.

So, I guess I basically agree with you, kenny, but perhaps I''m a bit less OCD.

I have a half eternity and I think really the most I would do is a 3/4 for the resizing issues. I love the look but full eternity rings do not feel comfortable to me as I dislike the chaffing between the fingers.

So for me it has less to do with the clean diamonds and more to do with comfort and practicality. (I''m pretty sure I will only get fatter, not skinnier. Sad but true.)

Luckily I get to admire everyone else''s eternities, and they can carry them off so much better than me anyway.

When we got married, my husband let me choose my wedding band. I had a hard time deciding between a plain band and an eternity (I know... you''re always supposed to choose the diamonds...). I went with the plain band though, because I wanted a ring I could wear alone when I was doing work around the house without having to worry about it.

However, DH said I could get the eternity band for an anniversary gift in the future if I still want it. Even though I love the way they look, I''m so nervous that I would chip a diamond. I''m so not graceful, and I really bang up the back side of my rings. Maybe I''m a person that would need a 1/2 or 3/4 eternity for that reason, but I need to do some thinking about what I want...

Has nobody here had trouble with their eternity band diamonds chipping??

Darn it!

Now u all have me really thinking about this.......

Yes, I am turning that half-band all day long come to think of it.

The channel set seems a safer alternative to a shared prong me thinks.

never. i have a 4.75CT eternity band here and I have been wearing it quite often and it never chipped. I wear my Single Stone Eternity with my pear and no problems either...

I love eternity bands and own 3 of them. The two that I feel most comfortable wearing are channel-set as I have a fear of losing stones from the prong-set eternity ring. The summer months are hard for me because my diamonds always get a film of sunscreen on them. But like the old saying goes "there is no ugly diamonds, just lazy diamond owners".... :D
