Eternity band size question...

Hi ladies!!

I wondering if there is a noticeable difference in size between a 4 & 5 carat eternity band? I am having one custom made & am torn between the two sizes.

The width difference is 3.5 mm & 4 mm. For reference, my finger size is 5.5. Do you think 5 carat would overwhelm me in comparison to the 4 carat.

FYI, the diamonds are cushion.

do any of you ladies have a similar ring that you can share photos & stats of (carat weight, width & ring size)?

I can tell you that I have an asscher eternity band that is 4 carats, my finger size is 4.5, the stone are aprox .24 carats each and I wish I had chosen a larger carat weight. Asschers like cushion face up small for thier weight. It is in a uprong setting and is really confortable but I wish it had more presense.

Asschers aren't an equal comparison because they face up much smaller than rounds. Is this for a standalone ring? I wear a 5.5 and find a 3 carat one to be the largest I would probably wear, but certainly 4 cts. at 3.5mm would be a large and blingy band!!! I would not like the thickness of a band larger than that, either.

For me personally, I think 4 ct and most definitely 5 cts would be too much for me especially if I was wearing the ring with another. As a stand alone or a RHR I could maybe pull off a 3ct, but I prefer my jewelry to be more subtle. I suppose it's all a matter of what YOU like and feel has comfortable with. I'm sure it will be gorgeous no matter the ct weight. Can't wait to see what you decide!

I went with the 5 carat! It's being made as I type & I will post photos as soon as I have it on my hand!
