After seeing so many beautiful eternity bands on PS, I''m set on getting one as my wedding band. I figure I won''t ever have a better excuse to buy one:P. I don''t want to wear it with my engagement ring (worried about the metal scratching) so I want to get a size that doesn''t look too thin by itself. Today I went to try them on. Unfortunately, the store that I went to only had 2 shared-prong ones, a 1ctw and a 1.8 ctw. The 1ctw looked a bit thin by itself, and the 1.8 ctw is too expensive. It''s 3k at Signed Pieces. Does anyone wearing just an eternity band? What size do u think is "wide" enough? Also, what do you do with these rings if your fingers get fatter? I know it''s not resizable but I hate to think that''s the end of the ring!

Depending on how they are made, an eternity ring could be "reamed out" slightly. I had mine (4 pointers) changed from a size 3.5 to a 3.75 last summer. I believe Mara did the same thing with her eternity band.

Unfortunately I continued to gain weight so I just had a new one made with 5 pointers, size 4.

IMO, I think a band made with 5 - 8 pointers would look nice by itself (depending on your
finger size). Websailor (and I) both have half eternity rings made of 8 pointers that he
wears on dressy ocassions (I don''t wear mine anymore since the 8 pointers do look
overbearing on my size 4 finger).

Let us know what you end up with.

Well, as I see it, you have at least two options. You could get a channel set eternity band and wear it with your e-ring. No metal scratching that way.

Or, you could go to other jewelry stores and see what size stones are going to look okay. If you are ever in NYC, you can go to Signed Pieces and try on lots of different eternity rings. Also, check out the Show Me The Ring forum, there are lots of pics of eternity bands by themselves. Lynn comes to mind as having a pic with just her shared prong ring.

Good luck!

Here is a photo of my shared-prong w-ring made with .05 pointer ACAs. It''s a great size and I love it!

Here is my Raphael Signed Pieces ring: 1.16ctw, size 3.75, 5 pointers. I think mine looks pretty substantial on its own, but I could also go bigger

Hi there,
What about 3/4 "eternity"- this way you can size the band easily and save some cost also?
