engraving on white gold

HELP! I know nothing about the subject of rings and such. I''m getting married and would like to get a personalized ring for my soon to be hubby. I found a great white gold band it''s 6.5mm. I would like to add something on this simple ring and was wondering if it''s possible to engrave on white gold. It would only be about 4 letters. Please! I need to get something soon! HELP!

Sure. Most jewelers can either do this or can arrange to have it done by someone. Hand engraving is kind of an unusual skill but there is nothing about white gold that would cause a problem. Depending on the details of your ring and what you want done, there may be some machine alternatives available as well. Ask the person who is selling you tht ring or a jeweler in your town.

Chelgill: of course u can. Both my husband and I have white gold wedding bands that are engraved with our names and the date we got married...so u should be fine..just make sure to take it to a place that has had previous experience in engraving and can show you some samples so that you can make sure of the quality and craftsmanship..good luck!

First, thank you for your reply. Second, Maybe I should have said engraving on the outside of the band not on the inside. Does that change it at all? or is it still possible?

That''s what most of us were answering. Steve''s correct that engraving on the inside is quite a bit easier to do and the tool is pretty common but it''s not your only choice.

Yes, it''s almost always possible to engrave your message on the outside of the ring. You can have pretty much any message, in any language you wish. Ask the jeweler.
