Engagement ring - rookie

All,

Having proposed to my girlfriend last weekend with my great grandmothers copper engagement ring the pressure is now on to get the ‘real’ ring.

I already had a pretty good idea of the style she liked, and she has chosen the Canturi Regina 1ct.
I got a price on a 1ct, F, VS2 ~$12k AUD.
Given the cost and my obviously lack of knowledge, what should I be looking at / questions to ask before I sink my house deposit into this?

Canturi huh? She's got nice taste. If it's a princess the lab report isn't going to help that much unless it's from AGS and it says 0 for light performance. If it's GIA, I don't know of anyone that can tell you more than the basics. I doubt they have an ASET and will send you images.

Basically, if she wants the ring. Buy her the ring. Anything else is kinda irrelevant. And you are getting exactly what you paid for: a Canturi ring.
