Hi Gang,

Just curious. Is $10K for a 1.5 Carat, American Ideal Cut, G-Color, SI-clarity diamond sound reasonable? I know Cut is King and the color looks fantastic, a lot of fire and brilliance. Concerned with the SI clarity, but the inclusion is small and at the bottom of the diamond. What do you all think? My girlfriend was really hoping for a 1.5 Carat and I think this is a pretty good deal and right in my price range.

Thanks!

I'm not an expert, but I did some decent research when we bought our first ER, and I'm looking to get the replacement now of a similar quality, a little larger. More info is needed to make a definite decision, but. If by American you mean AGS, with these color, clarity, weight, it seems like it's a fair price. Do little comparative search with the PS vendors. But wait to hear from the experts here.

Good luck!

By American Ideal, it is a 1A cut.

Thanks.

Do you have more info? Like angles, percentages? Did you run it on HCA? Is the stone eye clean? What cert does it have?

Does it have an AGS or GIA cert? If it doesn''t, then you really don''t know what you''re getting without having an independent appraisal done. If it is AGS or GIA, then it would be more in line with SI2 prices

Here''s a 1.5 H SI1 ideal cut running $11,300 with discounts.

1.57 G SI2 $9092 (you''d have to ask if this stone is eyeclean)
