It is getting close to the time for me to pick out a ring and ask that special question. I figured it would be easy to go down to the local mall and find a ring at any of the jewelers that would be perfect and it would be as simple as that. And to make things easier, the girlfriend even showed me the perfect ring that she fell in love with at Shane & Co. But, with a simple Google search, I quickly found PriceScope and my initial thoughts were erased. Still being a newcomer and not having near enough knowledge or education about rings as the people on here, I come to you for help. My gf is absolutely in love with this ring from Shane & Co., but I would rather have your opinions on whether or not what I would be buying would be a quality ring, or is there somewhere else that offers this ring that you would recommend. I appreciate all the help in advance.

It is a Pave style, 14K White Gold setting with nearly 1 5/8 ct. TW which includes a .7 ct. center diamond and two side diamonds at .66 ct. TW. The diamonds are round, said to be I1 or better in clarity and an I or better in color.

This is the perfect ring, but just making sure that I am getting what I would be paying for as $5,000 is pushing the top of my budget. T

Thank you again.

I1 carity+ does not sound good. and plus you don't know what their grade is based on which lab.

For the same amount of money, I would go with this setting (2 side diamonds of 0.50ctw is included here)(do ask them if they can do the center stone of 0.65 since it shows on there the center stone starts at 1ct but I'm sure they can make it for u)

wire price $2808 + they have 12% discount until the end of dec.

and this diamond

PS discount wire price $2,695

This will put you a little less than $200 over the other ring, but it will be so much more sparkly and beautiful than the one you had posted as you are getting the ideal cut diamonds.

No, I would not get it. It is not going to be worth 5,000.

Setting:
http://www.gabrielengaged.com/style/ER5842W44JJ

Center Stone:
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8816/

total would be 5317, but I would call GOG and give them the item number for both the setting and diamond because it may come out less. In the mean time I would place the diamond on hold while they are researching that for you, you don't have to buy it if doesn't turn out :twirl:

this is what i would do:

http://www.b2cjewels.com/Create-Your-Three-Stone-Ring/18K-White-Gold-Diamond-4385-1.aspx
setting = $830 in 18k wg, but u need to add your own side stones

http://www.b2cjewels.com/pdd-2618605-2610028-0.61-totalCarat-Round-pairdiamond.aspx
pair of diamonds H SI1 totaling 0.61ct = $927

or
http://www.b2cjewels.com/pdd-2618605-2496557-0.63-totalCarat-Round-pairdiamond.aspx
pair of diamonds H SI1 totaling 0.63 ct = $932

this brings the total for the setting to $1760

then for the centre stone i would buy:
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Premium-Cut-Round-Diamond-1439099.asp
I SI1 0.81ct $2930 with pricescope discount, eye clean and scores 1.7 on HCA

TOTAL RING = $4690 with better quality diamonds in terms of cut, clarity and color and a bigger centre stone by

ps, i recently bought a setting from b2cjewels (long story...initially i wasn't happy but they apologised and compensated for their poor customer service, and i know for a fact that they order their settings from a reputable company Unique Settings of NY so i'd be comfortable with that)

Here is some other options

diamond:
http://www.eternitydiamonds.com/diamond_detail.php?id=592227

Setting:
http://www.eternitydiamonds.com/engagement-rings/diamond-engagement-ring/Three-Stone-Halo-Ring-With-Split-Shank-513.htm

Total cost if you pick 14k gold: 5204.00, but call for the pricescope discount off the diamond and that will bring the price down

Different setting with the same diamond as above:
http://www.eternitydiamonds.com/engagement-rings/diamond-engagement-ring/Three-Stone-Halo-Engagement-Ring-(.48-ctw..)-367.htm

Total: 4994.00 but still call to get the discount off the diamond which again would bring the pice down further

I think this diamond would be a good pick for you:)
