Hi everyone. Have been looking at loose diamonds for engagement ring over the past few months now. And have looked at these forums to try and understand it all!

I am looking at purchasing the diamond outlined below. Just a little concerned about the clarity characteristics (cloud, feather finish). But i couldn''t really tell on visual inspection, it looked bright.

Anyhow, any advice would be appreciated.

GIA certificate:
Princess cut
0.79c
5.1 x 4.96 x 3.68
Colour F
Clarity VS2
Table depth 74.2%
Table size 72%
Girdle - med to thick
Clarity characteristics: Cloud, Feather finish.
Very good polish and symmetry

The clarity shouldn''t be an issue because it was reliably graded by GIA as VS2. Virtually all VS inclusions are eye-clean and have no effect on the beauty/sparkle of the diamond.

However, what we can''t help you with by the numbers is how good the cut is. For that you will need close-up photos and reflector images such as ASET or IS.

ditto.

Anything to worry about?

Not really top of the line in terms of cut but probably beat most of the competition.

I will just activate the link so others can read it more easily...

Its a nice make ( cut) of Princess, the crown height is a bit low, higher would be better and the ASET could show more evenly distributed red but it could be an attractive stone - what I would call good rather than great.
