I feel bad for keeping everyone in suspense. There isn''t much of a story! He asked me Friday night at his house. My daughter noticed the ring box sitting out as soon as we got there and asked him what it was. Then, he just turned to me and said, "There''s been something I’ve been meaning to ask you. Will you marry me?" Simple, sweet, and perfect to me.
Our daughters started jumping around, hugging, and saying, "We''re going to be sisters!"
He had had something planned, but realized I was going crazy waiting on him to do it (especially after trying on the ring and knowing I have a wedding to put together by August), so he put me out of my misery.
His mom happened to be in town, so she was able to see the ring on Saturday. I also had a cousin''s birthday party on Sunday (about an hour from where I live), so I was able to show a few family members the ring there as well. Very good timing on his part!
Unfortunately, I have to send the ring back to be resized (5.5 to 5). I''m also going to have them replace one of the melee diamonds in the lower right corner of the halo. I have quite a few more pictures, but they are on my fiancée''s (?!) computer. I''ll post them as soon as I can. In the mean time, here are the center diamond specs:
Carat weight: 0.80
Cut: Excellent
Color: G
Clarity: SI1
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 61.6
Table: 56.0
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Medium to slightly thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.93*5.98*3.67
The diamond scored a 0.7 on the HCA. I was somewhat worried about the low score, but the diamond is gorgeous! It throws off fire and sparkles like crazy! I have a 10x and 20x loupe and have tried and tried, but cannot spot an inclusion in it with my 20/20 vision! The GIA dossier states, "Twinning Wisp" under clarity characteristics, so I guess that is why it got the SI1?
Thank you for all of the sweet compliments and congrats!
Ohhh...that''s so sweet about your guys'' daughters!!!
Congratulations!!! The ring is absolutely amazing...I said it in your earlier thread, but, MAN, do I love that setting! I''m so glad he didn''t torture you for too long!
