We’re engaged!!
FI and I have been together for 8 years (since college) but we were waiting to be done with school first. With my grad program over in June of 2010, it was about time!
Anyway, I had gotten in the shower to get ready for my birthday dinner at an AWESOME restaurant. When I got out of the shower (only 15 minutes later), the living room was arranged with two formal table settings and a great cheese and wine spread, complete with a printed menu and my favorite flowers, which had been hiding out under the couch all day! FI suggested a toast after we ate and set the bottle down on the table. That’s when I noticed that the label, where labels usually show the location of the vineyard, listed all of the cities where we’ve lived together. I was like “Wait, you had this made!” (thinking it was a really really sweet birthday gift) and I turned the bottle around and there was the sweetest proposal printed on the back label!
The ring is a cushion cut, F color, VS1 clarity and a little over 1 carat. I’m a size 4.
FI timed it perfectly (I had an hour before we had to head to the restaurant—plenty of time for phone calls)!
