Would you ever buy an EC that didn''t have cut corners, but was a perfect rectangle?

only if i seen it in person and liked it.
The cut corners add a lot of fire to the cut.

I love those... There's a thread about them HERE. Subject to some lucky cut, the simple facets come alive. And fire is not a function of how many facets are these so that happens too in slices of colored light off those large mirror-like facets.

Unfortunately, I don't think large 'baguettes' are popular, and there doesn't seem to be many stones around. It seems that the option belongs to unusual modernistic jewelry these days.

Stuart Moore makes solitaires with large baguette cut diamonds.

The largest pieces I have found were near 4 cts - brilliant and totally spectacular.

The one in the picure below is not such a great cut (too deep, so there is that dark frame in it), but it was hard enough to find any example at all so on it went.
