Hello Everyone,

I've been looking for an Emerald Cut with amazing optics for a long time, I think I've found a nice one here. Please give me your opinions, thanks! I know it doesn't have the table and depth of an "ideal" emerald, but it looks great from the image and aset.

Specs:
1.09 G VVS2
Table: 67%
Depth: 63%
Crown Height: 11.8%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent

I think it looks great. Get that puppy in person and see what you think.

Bump.

Can any experts weigh in? I need to pull the trigger today.

Not an expert, just an EC lover and I think that ASET looks fantastic! I would buy that stone.

No an EC expert but it looks amazing to me, a really special stone. Definitely worth seeing in person.

I'm not an expert either, but I can tell you that it's really unusual to see an ASET of a step cut with that much red. It truly looks like it has a ton of potential and without a doubt worth purchasing and taking a look at.

I pulled the trigger, should have it on Wed.

I'll post pics and a review on the stone :)

Yah! I can't wait to hear what you think! post lots of pics! :appl:

I would like to mention that this diamonds is exactly why we say you can't buy fancies and stepcuts by the numbers. Many people would have discarded this stone from the numbers because the table is greater than the depth because it doesn't have a 14% crown (although it is over the minimum of 11%). But it is gorgeous. Those corners are to die for and the ASET shows a bright stone.

I'm no expert but the picture looks gorgeous! Can't wait to see it!

I just got the EC last night :) It looks amazing, although it is so different than my RBs and my AVC. It is more understated.

It is a bright stone and the facets light up well. Very mesmerizing to look at, the larger table really allows you to look into the stone.

Outside the facets really provide great fire. I haven't looked at it in store lighting to really see the fire potential.

I took a bunch of photos, it's really hard to photograph a step cut well. With a step cut, it's all about moving the stone and seeing the facets turn on and off.

Hope you like the photos. Let me know what you think, is it a keeper????

Keeper for sure! Amazing light performance, for an Emerald Cut. Definitely in the top 80% of well cut emeralds I see, if not higher. Nice find and congratulations!

Thanks Ideal Polish.

Any other comments?

I'm thinking of putting this into a thin bezel and surrounding it with baguette diamonds, very similar to this below. Anyone have pros/cons of bezeling a step cut?

Bump.

If it has enough fire for you its a keeper.
Nice and bright.

Absolutely a keeper in my book! It's gorgeous! The only reason I'd tell you to return it is so I could buy it instead. LOL.

Thanks Karl & Gypsy! I'm definitely keeping it and will post when I figure out what ring design it will go in.

Can't wait to see it in it's final home. Gorgeous stone. I really think it might just be my favorite EC on here.
